Is this how they flirt in Australia? Assange wont back off from teenage girl.

Jesus, you can be rolled and fooled so easily LL. Wake up. Funny how this guy had zero problems until he tried to show the world and America what kind of shady bullshit the US govt was up to.

Stop being such a sheep. Good grief man!

He had zero problems?????

Look at his history.

It seems he has long standing mental problems and long standing bizarre sexual problems.

Google is your friend.

I don't see why one persons actions should call into question the actions and ethics of a nation's citizens.

This email exchange is from 5 or 6 years ago. Assange clearly doesn't know when to stop. And gets catty when given the brush off.

This email exchange makes Assange seem like someone who doesn't know when to stop.

Tit for tat really. Because he reveals what America and it's allies (embarrassingly) think of each other and other countries and their political figures, it's okay to reveal personal info about him. I've no problem with that - and I'm sure he hasn't. It's hardly going to discredit him.

This is merely a taster of all that is waiting in store for Assange, care of the dirty tricks department of a certain super power.

Hyper embarrassment can be the catalyst for the most bizarre of misinformation, and disinformation campaigns.

Now that Julian Assange has been freed from prison, I am hoping that Wiki Leaks wil remove their gloves, and provide their enthusiastic audience with something that we don't already know, which will blatantly annoy The State Department's puritanical sense of self righteous superiority.

Two can play this game, with the added thought that Wiki Leaks, has a treasure trove of State Department files ready to publish for our entertainment.

Kallipolis - Obama does not have the balls to do anything. He and his administration will just hiss like a bunch of cats.

I'm not sure if he (Obama) rely minds - he wanted to have the most transparent admin in history.

I read some of the supposed emails that Assange wrote - I'm sorry but normal people don't write like that -- sounds like a bunch of high school or college kids trying to sound like what they think an intelligent 33yo sounds like.

If the Obama administration made all the secret files available to so many people -- they deserve to have them leaked.

However, we (the USA) just doesn't deserve Obama (the man with no balls).

There's no doubt that Assange is a bit of an oddball, and probably a very arrogant man. But that's obvious - it takes a certain personality to do what he's done with Wikileaks.

I don't really understand what this thread is about.

The purpose is to get an idea what Assange is all about. He seems to have issues based on the emails. I'm not sure how that goes to what he's doing at Wikileaks, but it's out there. Take it for what it's worth.

Let's see if I got this right --

LL misses being in middle school, where as a popular student he spent a good deal of energy daily dissing and insulting nerds, so he's acting out by picking on the world's current most visible nerd.

???

Where'd you get this from? Rush's stash?

Oh give me a fucking break! You do realize that 40% of all emails are misunderstood by the party receiving the email at that moment. And here you sit in judgement of emails not in context, nor relationship, nor with the benefit of knowing the person, personally? Again, it's sickening to watch how fast your dick buries in the ass of the US Govt trying to ruin a man for embarrassing it. Don't you fucking dare, ever, never, tarnish baby boomers again. How sickening you become such a sycophant so quickly. :puke:

It's not about embarrassing it. We deserve shit and more from Bush's atrocities (here and abroad) to Obama's coziness with business. I'd love to know what really happened during the financial meltdown as much as anyone here.

However Assange's intentions must be questioned. From releasing the cables about the facelifts of a first lady in an Asian country to the well known Russia mafia government, none of this is news. What exactly has the majority of such cables exposed? Furthermore, he's profited handsomely from Wikileaks and has yet to pay the $50,000 he promised Manning.

People seem to be in denial that actions have consequences. I read today on Huffington Post that the soldier that leaked the info is shocked that he's in custody. Shocked! He broke his oath and he's actually shocked that the authorities have arrested him. Only in America!

And what journalist uses blackmail to stay out of trouble? And why use the documents that actually mean something domestically, BP and Bank of America's dealings, as some sort of insurance policy? These documents should have been released after the footage of the Iraqi AP reporter's assasination. They probably show malfeasance by our politicians, not ambassadors' gossip filled cables.

This is another piece that will be used by those who have decided that Assange can do no right, to assail him.

But if left liberals can suddenly turn and stand with Palin and talk about sometimes being right, then the thesis is wrong: Assange can do right, just as he can do wrong. It behooves us to examine what he's done, what he's accused of, and assess it not as a lump but in pieces.

Jumping on the hate wagon is playing into the hands of powers that believe in oppression more than rights. Making a blanket defense is jumping on the wagon of the anarchists. Neither is healthy, nor helpful.

Palin is a wimpy bitch that thinks America can do no wrong. I clearly don't believe America is always right.

Occasionally we can be in the right, right?

*Wonky not wimpy. Phone is replacing words for me. Was at "Tron" with boyfriend. Horrible film.
