Is this like... a gay After-school special

awww that was uber cute.
kinda makes me wish life was actually like that sometimes. well, with better acting. perhaps more emotion.

I liked it to a point...I mean, Scott didn't have to undress dude saying something to the effect of "you look so straight; lose the flannel". I thought dude looked alright in what he wore. Not everyone has to run screaming from the closet climbing into whatever clothes are considered "gay" or whatever...then again, I feel we're in a sad state when clothing gets a sexuality. It's thread.

Other than that, maybe a bit more of a bad reaction from the roommate would be a little closer to what actually happens, but maybe have the guy over time figure out that he's not going to be gay just because his roommate is. I do like that the cheerleader kind of helps.

Alright, I'll stop picking it apart. Idea was phenomenal.

"I like to dress up". Has anyone ever used or heard anyone use that phrase to say "I'm a top"?? Give me a break.

Honestly, I thought it was pretty bad. That looks to me like it was written by straights. They have the young guy, struggling with his feelings...and the oh so experienced fashion queen, there to show him the ropes. Please.

I will admit, the message is there: It's OK to be gay, and if that helps the new generation, that's a good thing.

:-)

God! MTV drama is such crap!

But at least it was visible...they tried. It sucked, but it was cute. Where did they find these actors, though? Ay!

My God... I can't believe I just watched the whole thing (both of them).

I used to love watching that show when I was younger.

Well, Scott's just a little bitch, isn't he ?

"Play by Scott's rules" my ass. Somebody should have told him the rule about washing out the peroxide after 20 minutes.

Heh, I dunno, god awful acting aside, I suppose it's a good thing that the
'young folks' are watching this...

Still, that script: "You boys doing a little male bonding ?" "No !!"

THere's a gay brother episode which is also on You Tube.

check it out.. it's pretty cute.

Ahh...Undressed. This, sadly, is what I watched as a kid when I had very little access to anything gay and near pornish.

Hmm...

How old are these clips ?

I'm so out of touch with MTV I remember when they used to play music videos. ;)

I always remember watching these and annoyed with the str8 stories waiting the few gay ones.

Yeah, it's another cheesy storyline but the acting's a bit better and it's got Nicholas Gonzales ..|
Part 1

Part 2

Oh dear god.

Someone please get me four kinds of antidepressants, a bottle of vodka, really sharp knives, and some of Bruce Willis's old movies.

I think those clips finally gave me enough courage to kill myself.

Honestly. Why are all gay men attractive? Can't some of us be fugly as hell?

*sighs*

I guess for the time, it was special...

I think it's great that a channel like MTV put stuff like this on - all of it, even if the acting wasn't always the greatest. It could definitely be a courage builder.

Now if some high profile broadcaster would show one where there was some conflict or some initial bad reaction from friends and family. Then show how the characters handled it, how they worked through it, got past it, accepted it. That would maybe show that there's life after a not-so-storybook initial reaction.

Again, there has to be a first step somewhere and hats off to MTV/Undressed for making the effort. BTW, I like that they chose not to perpetuate the stereotype that all gay men are like this or like that. They completely took the emphasis off that subject and focused just on the coming out issue. Nice.

OMG if it's that way... I'm just gonna stay in the closet *closes door and locks it*
Well, for some perspective, ALL the relationships on that show, gay or straight, are portrayed like that. So I don't even think it's being stereotypical, it's just written that way for everything.

Maybe I'm daft or something ... but I don't know who this bit of programming is directed at. Are there really kids that clueless who are age-appropriate for this show?

It just seems a little juevenile for any kid I've ever known, gay or not. Maybe I was fortunate to grow up in a semi-sophisticated place ... but the target audience for this cute bit of tripe just puzzles me.
