“When one is home, he dreams of adventure; and when one is on adventure, he dreams of home.” Thornton Wilder

It very much is for me. I love going on vacation, always have, but I get homesick in about seven days. I have a few dream vacations I would love to do and spend a month or more at each place, but I know I probably couldn't do it.

I don't get homesick but I do get bored after 7 days
I have been away for longer but was only on activity holidays that I didn't get bored

Not homesick, but after 10 days or so I look forward to getting back into my routine of eating, sleeping etc.

I think it is, as much I like and look forward to going placed and doing things I'm always glad to be going home...

No not true for me I LOVE VACATION I don't have to cook clean really do laundry (I have had the need to do an emergency load but because some jackass spilled their shit on me and I didn't want my favorite shirt to stain), even tidying up after myself is basically taken care of. We don't have sat/cable thats a bonus, no central air so spending the nights peacefully asleep in an igloo when its 100 in the shade is great! Who wants to go back home thats where all your problems are?!

I've had a few weekend holidays before, but my only real 'vacation' was to southern Alberta back in the 70s. Coming home was a bit of a nightmare. We flew out of Calgary and were supposed to touch down in Toronto, but the airport workers were on strike and we were diverted to Montreal. It was late when we landed and we scrambled around to rent a car to get back home. We ended up with a small compact. It got us home after midnight, but I had to get up early the next morning to drive the car to Toronto to drop it off and then get another ride with my brother to get me back home again.

And that was my one and only vacation.

we have a cabin two hours from our main house, every thing in it is ours, we've decorated it taken care of it and we go there frequently, and still if we are there for a week or so, I look forward to going to our regular house...

I'm not a homesick type, so I can be away for really long time and not really long to be home. The only limiting factor would be when I feel saturated by exhaustion (mental and physical), then I long to be [strike]in bed[/strike] home.

I however often get disappointed toward several places (particularly those which take really long time to reach, only to offer little things to do or sightsee there), but then I long to go away instead of coming home

Boredom is rather easy to take care of; all I need to do to avoid that is to move around constantly, spending at most 3 days at one place. Then again, so far all the trips I follow have always been tour programs and rarely did I spend more than 2 days at one place.

I really don't 'dream of adventure' .. sure there's a few places that I think it'd be kinda cool to go see, but I also don't like being away from home.
7 days would be way too much. A couple would be enough.

A week is plenty long enough for me as I do get homesick, but I am planning a major European tour soon, if I don't chicken out.

I do long to go away and see different things and get out of my routine, but after awhile I do long to go home and get back to my routine again.

I look forward to most all trips away, and they're always too short.

Many years ago I was on the road a LOT for my job. I mostly enjoyed it. Not a real homesick prone guy.

I enjoy my vacations, but i do like getting back home. The feeling of putting your house key in the front door after a 18 hour flight feels fantastic.
