Is "You look familiar" a common gay pick up line?

Threads in the poll forum should have a poll attached to them. I've moved your thread.

To answer the question, the statement "you look familiar" sounds pretty innocuous, and I think knowing a little more about the context in which it was said would help us know if someone was trying to pick up on you. :-)

I was wondering if "you look familiar" a common gay pick up line because I've been getting by guys who I suspect are gay...is this a line I don't know of? Please let me know what you think...thanks

OHHHH SHIT! I heard that one a while ago. And talk about bad timeing, i was taking my grandma to the pharmacy one day and this shirtless guy was rolling around on roller skates, slides up behind me and says it "Hey, don't i know you from some were" *wink*. At that point i just start to shove my grandma through the door while screams no, no.

Or, you can answer, "Yeah, I'm a pornstar and was in 'Jocks and Cocks'."

It was used on me once, some guy insisted we went to the same school - he was really cute but had his 'beard' on (female companion) and at the time I was too innocent to click-on that it was a chat up line. :(

I remember one time not long ago, I was in a bar, and across the pool table was this dude that I knew from high school. I went over to him, and just started talking to him, and we actually talked for a few hours on and off while playing pool and drinking beer. It wasnt really dark in there, but it wasn't really bright either, well anyway shortly after our last conversation all the lights got turned on in the bar as to indicate that it was closing time, and that is when I realized that this dude was a complete stranger, he just happened to look like someone that I Knew in h.s. . he was cool about it, he knew all along that we didn't know each other, but for whatever reason didn't correct me. lol.. I have never seen him since.

it is something i would say if i was caught looking at a guy

My attitude seems to shout, in one way/tone or another, "go away" or if not, it´s that they only have the time to think "Wow... hey where are you going?"... and I´m gone.
So I never get pick up lines addressed to me, let alone the contrary

Well it is one way to start a conversation that leaves you free to depart just looking like an occularly challenged muppet if he should say "no". If he says "yes I'm your brother" it is time to get glasses.

Actually, I think many of us really do run into people we think we've known. It usually ends up that the new person just reminds us very stongly of someone else we knew.
But in a pick up situation it can be a nice ice breaker.
