  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Is your BF a good cook or chef?

This sounds very romantic. Maybe he's a messy cook and doesn't want you to see. Or maybe he just wants to dazzle you with a finished product! No dumpster checking! Just enjoy. And let us know how it goes.

My Nick is an amazing cook. He has a natural talent for being creative in the kitchen, and truly enjoys cooking. Which is fortunate for me, because I don't really care for cooking, but I certainly enjoy eating his creations!

is my bf a good cook or chef?

dunno. but i'll let ya know if i ever find him. ;)

nope .. that's why i do the cooking. he can do the shopping for it though :D

my bf can't cook worth a sh&*.....i do all the cooking. I'm sure that when we first started dating 25+ years ago, I dazzled him with my culinary talents! I hope you have fun!

Fortunately, I love to cook because my nearest and dearest - well, not so much.

No, he can't cook and I'm much worse at it. But I'd never tell him that I don't like his cooking. He likes doing it too much.

Nope, I've always been the chief cook and bottle washer in my household.

I used to tease my ex that he burned boiling water!

I wonder if the twink he's now living with cooks him a hot meal every night? (Sir Ron's inquiring mind wants to know, hehehe!);)

well, i don't refer to him as boyfrind, but as compañero which is maybe like partner or medianaranja. anyway, he is a chef amaong other things. he cooks several kinds of cuisine even COLOMBIANA. his ajiaco is as good as anybody can do it that is from here. and he makes the best criollas.
I? i cannot even light the stove. so we have no competing.

He's not quite my bf yet, and he doesn't cook. He has friends come over and cook for him. Soon that's going to be my job though. I'm already planning the first mean I'm going to cook for him and it's going to be romantic and mushy.

My boyfriend tries and cooks, it's often simple stuff, and I love it.

I prefer to cook more complicated things, but I've also been through several classes. Who would have that all those food management classes would help?

Neither my boyfriend nor I can cook, so we order out too much. We just don't have time with what little time we have together, and we both don't like doing it, so it's a simple choice.

I have a great kitchen and I have all the necessary stuff. I just don't have the patience and I don't want to take the time to throw everything together, prepare it, then have to clean it all up. If it weren't for the microwave I would cease to exist.

My partner makes a killer sandwich and does take out Chinese very well. Other than that, no. I usually do the cooking (and dont mind at all since I know what makes my man happy!) ;)

One of my aunts was a great chéf, wrote cook books and cooked like a god. To be invited to one of her dinners was a treat in itself. She was the hostest with the mostest and it did help that she married a multi-millionaire who got hooked up on her food. Everything was up to the nines. Her tooth-picks were menthol flavoured and individually hand-wrapped in monogrammed silk paper, not to mention the more important stuff... She also was an amazing cocktail expert and treated people with utmost generosity. Her collection of rare wines, cigars and cognac was legendary.

She hardly ate anything and never liked her food, though she knew well that it was top of the line. She was completely crazy, too.

She taught me all the tricks in the book. But hardly anyone save for yours truly was allowed into her kitchen, while she was at it. She was very protective of her art.

So, I cook with great gusto. Everything but the sweets.

My BF knew how to boil the water for the tea. (He knew which button to press.) He hated the idea of cooking and would not do a thing about it.

I did not push him into anything.

Last year, he started watching me in the kitchen. He kept on saying, slow down, slow down, I am trying to learn. So, I tried to walk him through it.

As of this year, he has joined in. We now cook in four hands. Tell him, 'Tiger prawns for lunch', and he'll betray his country.

The experience is worth a million. He feels empowered.

Both of us are pretty decent cooks, although our 'styles' clash and we long ago discovered that there is no way we can cook together without somebody getting killed. Seriously.

He is unbelievably slow and somehow manages to dirty every pot, pan, and bowl in the entire place to come up with one dish. And if he is making more than one thing he cannot multitask, it is one thing at a time.

Me, I like to get things done, on time, and I clean up as I go so the place is never a disaster (usually). I did Thanksgiving this year, and had the turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing/dressing, cranberries (and not from a can), green bean casserole, jello salad, gravy, fresh bread (from scratch) with a cream cheese spread, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie and whipped cream, and had it done at exactly 6PM as promised. And it was all hot and done from scratch. And for cleanup, it was put away the leftovers and run the dinner dishes through the dishwasher; the kitchen was already clean. (I kind of impressed myself!)

Pubert's an amazing cook. A lot of times, he'll try new recipes, and then, as he places the dish in front of me, say "I promise nothing." He doesn't need to promise - it's always great. The worst thing he's ever made was still pretty good.

Me, I can do burgers, chili, fried rice, and anything that ends in "helper". So I'm usually on dishes.
