The Cash for Clunkers program.

Between me and my Partner, we've got four vehicles. Three of them to anybody would count as bona fide clunkers...the K Car , the 1991 Minivan with 150K miles on it and very little paint (it is coming off in dinner plate sized hunks) :help:, and his old 1991 Mazda pickup that is so rusty you can honestly see THROUGH the tailgate .

None of these deathtraps count as clunkers. :grrr:

Does your ride count? Use this handy calculator.

Yea tht's so stupid! I have a 1995 nissan it dont qualify. According to the site I am supposed to get 21 MPG ... but in reality i get more like 15 MPG

:(

Had one, but couldn't afford a new car even with the $4,500 clunker voucher. Ended up getting a really nice used car that cost me less than that $4,500 that I would have gotten. I'm going to end up going from an average of 17 mpg with the clunker to between 24 and 28 mpg with the new car.

Damn--

Who knew the old tracker wasn't a cluncker???

I had a date last week and we met at a resturant--when we left ---my date pointed at his brand new Saab and said--where are you parked....

I pointed over to my 13 year old, forest green, one owner Geo Tracker (paint's starting to flake) and said "that one."

Thank God I'm cute!!!

I wouldn't part with my land yacht, ah, land cruiser, for anything. Even at 15 mi. a gallon.

I read this about 3 months ago and meant to post this...I love the ideal I could get $4500 for my SUV but in this economy who can afford to buy a new car or for that matter who can get the credit to buy one if you do not have excellent credit?..If the government could had a program that helped most of the people get a loan even if they have had some credit woes then this would be a great thing!!...But oh well my Navi is paid for, that's one bill I do not have to worry about!!

Anybody thinking of going to get a new car??
