I consider the big issue is that they are spreading around the globe because rich nations want cheap labour

George Bush was just the last straw. Before that were Reagan's State Department deciding to abandon the Afghans Reagan had befriended against the Soviets, and Clinton ignoring them; before that it was backing a coup against a democratically elected government in Iran -- we've been mucking around in their countries for several generations, knocking off their leaders and overthrowing governments and supplying one side against another, and when the U.S. turned our backs on the freedom fighters after helping them chase out the Soviets it was sort of the last straw. They finally got pissed enough that they got religious about it. Having lit off that fire, we'll probably be battling it for two centuries.

Part of that battle will be putting our collective foot down and making them understand that our countries are ours, and if they're going to move in, they're going to leave behind their barbaric customs and learn to be civilized.

I watched all the parts. That's an awesome job -- makes me hate the fundie Islamists all the more, but see hope for Islam at the same time.
