Today, while driving through town, I wound up behind a minivan that had a big sticker on the back. The sticker had an Israeli flag in the middle of it, and under it the quotation from the book of Genesis that reads "I will bless those who bless thee."

It does not surprise me that a) the immediate reaction from some of you is that anything said against the beloved Israel must be a conspiracy, anti-Semitism or an anti-Semitic conspiracy. Many people refuse to think for themselves and need a media controlled by pro-Israel zealots to tell them what to think. Again...this does not surprise me.

And b) the "moderators" (substitute: flawed human beings with more opinions than common sense - or knowledge of the law, for that matter) decided to "truncate" (substitute: censor) 99 percent of my original posting. This does not surprise me because these are the same people who continue to watch quite happily as people of the Christian (or in my case more specifically, Catholic) Faith are treated like crap and accused of being immoral, cannibals, et al. But criticise the Jewish State and lo and behold! The "moderators" awaken! Having moderators in sites like these is a great idea. Vetting them better to ensure that their personal biases and/or prejudices do not get in the way of their actual duty, ie - to MODERATE (not judge, opine, censor, etc.) is an even better one.

I know the comeback will be: "You used copyrighted material!" Actually, not so...

As to your first point, there is nothing that I can say. I do not know what research or otherwise might have led the person who re-posted this piece to reach these figures. Ergo, yes, he did change the numbers and, no, I cannot and will not stand by them. However, we all know that an excessively enormous amount of money goes to Israel when Americans continue to suffer under a recession and rampant unemployment. I am wondering when Americans will suddenly come to the realisation that they should be the focus of their country's tax-paid largesse and not a foreign country...perhaps you disagree...

As to your second point:

Anyone with any basic knowledge of the law knows that one entity cannot circumscribe rules and regulations that ignore or circumvent the laws of the jurisdiction in which they operate. Therefore, were I to post something in clear compliance with the law (which I did), and some organisation (such as your own) were to determine it to be against your policies (which, apparently it was), it would be unenforceable in any court of law, were someone to pursue it.

I wanted to make a point. You chose to evade that point. Again...Not surprised. Try moderating rather than evangelising and then misinterpreting policy for the law...just a thought.

As far as the whole synopsis thing is concerned...guilty as charged...I will remember to do better next time. Count on it.

Do you realize what you just said? You confirmed Opinterph's point: Facebook, being a secondary entity, cannot change the laws concerning copyrights. Regardless of what their policy is, JUB has to follow the copyright laws -- which is why your quotes got slashed.
But even Facebook's policy doesn't give YOU the authority to freely copy and propagate other people's work -- it claims to give them, "the company", that authority.
All anyone has to do to neutralize their policy is to publish their work anywhere with a copyright notice, and Facebook has to stuff it -- they can't overrule the copyright laws. And since there are sites for writers where things are set up so merely posting your work establishes copyright, anyone who wants to can neutralize Facebook's policy.

So by trying to arrogate to yourself the rights claimed by Facebook, you were in double violation of copyright law: first by reproducing copyrighted work without permission, and second by impersonating the owner of Facebook.

You should thank Opinterph for rescuing you from that criminal situation.

You've posted what has been determined to be minimally inaccurate information from FaceBook. When challenged on the accuracy of the information by a fellow mod, you run from what you've posted liked scared rabbit to a fall back position of we give Israel too much money. Truth is, there may be some substance to that position. Unfortunately you've come to class unprepared.

A good poster comes to CE&P with facts. How much money were they given and why was it too much? What proof is there that the Jews were responsible for 9/11? What proof is there that Monica Lewinsky was an Israeli operative and that she blackmailed Clinton?

Now, if you wish to engage other posters with some of these window licker's conspiracy theories, that's fine. Just don't get your panties all up in a twist when you get called on it. That's what they do.

As to your other ridiculous assertion as to what JUB can and cannot do in terms of editing or deleting posts, you are wrong. The site owners can allow or disallow anything they see fit. There is no right to post or to have your post be free from deletion or editing. Now, if I'm wrong, go file your case counselor. Otherwise move on.

You have an excellent memory and are quite correct. I was born and raised a Traditionalist Catholic, and while I never mentioned SSPX specifically, I will state here and now that I have always been a member. This is true. But what exactly does this have to do with the topic at hand, I wonder?
