  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

It is almost impossible to get banned ...

Telstra, try saying in the open forums that you are underage. That'll show you the door real quick.

That and what Steve said about the CoC. As someone else said, it's much easier to click a box than to read a document. A judge would rule otherwise in a major legal case though ;) - hence, clicking = reading.

You can always tell some JUBbers you're a relatively well-known celebrity, and then offer to buy them plane tickets. That seems to do the trick.

Lex

I have offered to fly people to the South of France a couple of times.
Didn't get me banned. :-) Perhaps not being a celebrity saved me.

If it's impossible then why did Marley get banned?

I think if you start flaming everyone and become a dirty asshole then you'd eventually get banned.

But I don't think that spam and poop threads do much to get ya banned.

LOL.

That reminds me of someone on an MMPORG. He was a creator which is the highest rank and he wondered if he could ban himself. It worked and he was banned XD

That's the only way an admin can get banned.

Well of course marley. That applies to anything. People who are clever and can do enough to break the rules and make it not noticeable never get in trouble. The ones who maybe do it only once and make it visible do get in trouble or whatever.

You have a point. There could have been over nine thousand pages of spam one night and the next morning it was deleted so no one knew it ever happened and the person was gone.

But there is usually at least one person on.

Come on now RL, you know damn well we don't have seats in Mod Towers. Fuck-me couches, slings, and noisy-ass headboards on our beds---Yes....but seats....nope.

I sit on a barstool upside down.

Steve brings the KY, bless his heart.

well i'm sure if you put your mind to it you can figure out some way to get banned.

if all the people goes to court the the companies would loose coz no one reads the Terms & Conditions. ;)

It's harder to track people who are spamming and filling the forum with nonsense and parody threads just to be view-count whores. I'd volunteer to monitor this but I'm just now learning that 75% of my posts were in baiting threads](*,)

I'd almost (I said almost) bet my leftie that on average there would be 5 members a week banned for spamming... a lot of them are spambots and we find them in 1 or 2 posts with the help of you guys post reporting them... and there certainly have been real members regularly banned for pushing other sites to the extreme...

And I'd reckon that a couple of underage members are banned each week as well... and while its extremely hard to do that when they are genuinely seeking help and advice in Co&R for example its a black and white rule that has to be followed. All are referred to Empty Closets - JUBs sister site and thankfully most seem to end up there.

And then theres the rest...

It is hard to get banned from JUB in my opinion. Theres an enormous amount of tolerance shown unless the break of the CoC is beyond repair. There is a long and arduous process that the mods go through before reaching that stage. Everyone is given multiple chances, warnings, messages, infractions - although as the other guys have said there are infringements that skip all the niceties...

And then theres banning to various degrees... from forums to site bans. From short bans to permanent.

There is a leniency thats about right for a place so diverse and as colourful as JUB I reckon.

But have no fear Telstra... if we have to ban someone we will... and its because as a community we need to protect ourselves from those who would make the place unbearable.

Now. As for banning other mods... if Stevenavy and Robertac keep starting the fun before I get there like they have been lately... I'm gonna ban their asses from the fuck-me couches for sure!!!!!!!

This vid might get greaves banned for causing total embarrassment to Seth and JD!

JUB is a wonderfully tolerant place. This vid is coming from another perspective, but if you read the lyrics, they apply equally to the "creators" of JUB.

Remember: Freedom Of Speech is a right. It is not, under any circumstances, negotiable.

greaves, why do u think that.

i like the music video. it sounds like a man singing to another man about love.

*i guess he is str8 and singing about man on man love LOL
