joking aside: i strongly believe that the concept of homosexuality changes from culture to culture. thanks to colonialism, a gigantic majority of this world understands the western concept of "gay" (eg a single pair bond that mimics straight pair bonds).

for anyone within that social context to deny us anything makes him nothing less that an asshat. but this really is different.

there are hundreds of examples in which "gay" was defined differently in history and in the modern world. without coming from that cultural or social background, we don't know if those tibetan monks who scrolled those crazy words years ago were condemning gay behavior; condemning questioning your sexuality; or just condemning promiscuity. (which is funny if you think about it because we in western society condemn sexual promiscuity for no real reason).

and i doesn't get much more less westernized than a religion whose origin is heavily divorced from all the other abrahamic religions.

except for maybe the very few indigenous peoples of different lands who (luckily for them) still haven't had contact with us.

i wouldn't be so quick to judge.

1) Promiscuous sex isn't condemned for "no good reason"; it's condemned because it helps the spread of STD's, and other diseases. I would call that a reasonable reason. I know that it's important to have a healthy sex life, but there is a limit to that...

2) OK, now I'm curious: What other kinds of homosexuality are there? Even the Greek system was pretty much a variation of teenage crush and experimentation. Which version are considering...?
