I don't understand why there is a problem for some with Israel being Jewish, and no issues with Serbia, Russia, Greece, Iran, India etc having their national religions? There are secular, atheist, and religious Jews.

Surely you can no more have an atheist Jew as you can have an atheist Christian. An atheist has no theological belief in a G_d of any sort. Once you become an atheist, you STOP being a Christian, or a Jew, or a Muslim.

Jewish people share same qualities as any other ethnic group.

You're mixing and matching the concepts of ethnicity and religion.

Israel is a secular state and Judaism is not even an official government religion. Greek constitution has a provision that declares that Christianity is their national religion, so do many Muslim countries. etc...

Couple that to the Law of Return and you have a country which is almost inseparable from religion even though the state is secular, as opposed to the Islamic clerical law prevalent in other Middle East countries.

That is the problem with having George Bush as one's president.

Some Americans seem to believe that after "9 eleven" (no disrespect) they have become the most hated and persecuted group of people in the world. If I was only watching Fox news and CNN - I assume I would be believing the same, but the truth is, it is similar to comparing world War II to a 'slight social disagreement'.

Sitting behind your PC, anonymously trying to proove a point you are made to believe is the truth is sad. This is not a jewish/religious issue. How do you compare waking up and not knowing if you will still be alive at the end of the day to being told via the evening news that there is an 'light amber' alert?!

People all over the world are persecuted and denied basic human rights every day - most not even aware of the USA as a country (that's a fact) - but then again, if their story is not told via the latest block-buster movie - it must not matter to the rest of the world...

They had several debates and it's interesting to note one is described as a self-hating Jew who lost his tenure at DePaul because of Dershowitz and Jewish lobbying while the other is one of the most powerful news reporters in the US.

And we expect fair and balanced, lol its fox news all over again.


We cannot understand the plight of the Palestinians because we are so blind to what they go through and Israel has an amazing PR department.
