It's A Wonderful Day In Mr. Jindal's Neighborhood

Re: It's A Wonderful Day In Mr. Jindal's Neighborh

I saw the beginning of his speech in passing while waiting for a bus, so I'll have to find out what nobody liked about Bobby Jindal's speech. It's a little bit disconcerting to hear someone of Asian Indian descent speaking in a Deep South accent. But I like the unexpected!

Bobby Jindal will make an excellent USA President some day.

Re: It's A Wonderful Day In Mr. Jindal's Neighborh

He's a fucking idiot and a hypocrite.

While saying that he wouldn't take any money for his state from stimulus, he's helped himself to 3.7 of the 3.8 billion allocated.

Why refusing the remaining 100 mil gives him some sort of moral ascendancy in the dirt poor backhole he governs is beyond me.

It is interesting that he's only being thrown out in front of the cameras because he shows the repulican'ts have racial diversity too...certainly not fro his academic prowess or his charisma.

What a loser.

As a Canadian who has little knowledge of American politics I could not believe he even mentioned Katrina. Was it not one of his parties callosal failures while in office?

Re: It's A Wonderful Day In Mr. Jindal's Neighborh

shouldn't they have been concerned about the money situation while w was prez? to say that the dems are spending like drunk sailors is totally hypocritical. we had a balanced budget when w came in, he spent and spent and spent, now WE are paying the price. I wouldnt vote for a republican in this financial enviornment. i cant wait for the next elections, i would like to see the voters wipe all the incumbants out of office and start with new fresh faces.

Goddamn foreigners!

I was on several liberal or progressive websites tonight and was shocked, NOT, at the racism while discussing this guy. DU was the worse.

Yeah, it's kind of sad when I see Democratic racism and sexism exposed. :/ Some people end up being just as bad as the Republicans.

](*,)](*,)

this guy (Jindal) is a blistering idiot and his speech tuesday evening proved it. he came up with the same old republican rhetoric that they have been spouting for the last nine years.

no where did he say anything about how the Bush administration had sat there for a year while the economic crises worsened. had the administration moved in Sept. or Oct. of 2007 we would not be in the mess we are now. but no, they waited for the free market economy to step in and heal things - well it didn't and now we have the debacle we are in.

and if he is so damn fucking worried about the government getting into things all he needs to do is read the headlines of he N. Y. Times this morning to see that Wall Street - the bastion of free enterprise is looking directly to the government to see what they will do - Wall Street is certainly not looking to the market place to correct the problems that now exist.

Stocks Slide Again as Investors Look to Washington

By JACK HEALY
As anxious investors waited for details on the federal budget and the government’s plans to test the stability of the country’s largest banks, Wall Street fell back on Wednesday morning, giving back some gains from a short-lived rally a day earlier.

The Dow Jones industrial average soared 230 points on Tuesday as Federal Reserve chairman Ben S. Bernanke calmed some fears that the United States was poised to nationalize major banks, wiping out shareholders. Tuesday’s gains came one day after stock indexes tumbled to their lowest levels in more than 11 years.

eM.:grrr:

Re: It's A Wonderful Day In Mr. Jindal's Neighborh

I literally fell asleep during the first few minutes. I realize he was giving some insight into his past, because a lot of people don't know who he is or anything about it, but god damn. It almost DID seem like an SNL skit the way it had not emotion and such. It was like a child with a reading disability reading a paragraph in a text book out loud in class during a piping hot session of 'popcorn.'
If this is the competition Obama is facing in 2012 it looks like he just won the 2nd term.

Re: It's A Wonderful Day In Mr. Jindal's Neighborh

He's a republican? :rotflmao:

They really need to make him STFU. The "God Bless America" crap stuck on the end just made my buttocks clench in agony at how corny it sounded.

YA his accent did throw me off track lol

What an idiot... the GOP needs to do better than that! :rotflmao:

Re: It's A Wonderful Day In Mr. Jindal's Neighborh

His "response" last night was more like a campaign speech. A transparent attempt to abuse the time to let the nation know he's interested in bigger things.

It more than sucked, it was downright offensive.

To have the balls to bring up hurricane Katrina, multiple times, and use it as a basis to explain how well the Republican party can bring people together is nothing short of putrid horseshit.

All delivered by a man who sounded like he was addressing a class of third graders...

It literally turned my stomach.

I have to admit that when I heard the name "Bobby Jindal", and Louisiana, I immediately thought "southern hick.'' But then Brian Williams said he was a Rhodes scholar, so I thought I should give him the benefit of the doubt. WRONG!

Republicans invoking Katrina? Huh? And I think he carried the "America can do anything" slogan a bit too far. He wore it out.

Perpetual war, fear, deregulation and tax cuts for the wealthy are all they are give a shit about. The rest of us could be living like rats and they could give a flying fuck.
^ He's right, you know...

And yet for some reason, so much of the working class continues to vote for them. Sad.
