It's just fucking coffee

Well i have had coffee in American McDonalds and you are right, it sucks. But in Canada our coffee is very good.

I don't understand why there is such a difference in standards between the two countries.

Wages? Mcdonalds employees don't get paid shit so we get "ain't paid shit" level service, if I was making eight bucks an hour and had to deal with snooty trash customers all day I wouldn't put forth any effort either, also America is super lax about health codes, when I worked at the movie theater our inspector never made it past the guest service desk at the front. We would reach into the drawer, dig out a fistful of free passes, "accidentally" set them on the counter and turn our heads. The passes vanished and we scored in the high nineties every time. If they actually did their job and went into the back we probably would've been shut down. Our food storage area had globs of dust/lint hanging from the ceiling.

My partner and I love starbucks. But we also realize that it's too expensive. So, every morning we take coffee from our coffee machine at home to drink. We only stop by starbucks may be once a week on weekend or if we're traveling to somewhere, like driving to a wedding out of state.

In my only coffee experience at a Starbucks, they ignored my specific request for the way I liked my iced coffee and gave me something completely wrong that they portrayed as an upgrade, as a favor they'd done for me.

I believe little of what i read on Reddit. Anyone can post anything. If you think there's sub-par cleaning going on at your local McDonald's just check health inspections. I doubt you'll find many violations. It sounds like a disgruntled ex-employee making up a story if you ask me.

If you genuinely believe health scores are earned and not bought, I've got some mortage-based securities I'd like to sell you.
