The Republicons and few Dems who continually block all gun laws don't give a shit.

Kids don't vote.

And if 40 of them are killed...and then their parents don't vote...do the math.

Politicians are only laser focussed on all the hundreds of thousands of ammosexuals who will vote.

That is the calculus they are using.

Allow gun manufacturers and lobbying groups to be sued like tobacco and other vices and you will see a significant change in "everyone needs a gun." When it hits the pocketbook, they'll come up with trigger locks, AI disarming, and a host of other controls just like big tobacco did. But they are getting rich (including the NRA) and more guns means more money.

Legislation is not the obstacle. There is plenty of reasonable and effective legislation proposed. The obstacle is Congress - which won't pass any of it because people vote Republican.
 
Hasn't the fucking NRA been bankrupted yet? Is there still Kremlin cash flowing in to make sure that Americans continue to kill one another without remorse or consequence?

And both parties bear some responsibility for not making the gun companies financially liable for their wilfull refusal to implement safety measures.
 
CBS News has been working on a photo essay that captures images of the bedrooms of kids who were killed in school shootings. Many of the rooms are unchanged since the day that the kids left for school, unaware that they would never return home. The parents are paralyzed- unable to decide whether to remove the belongings from the room or whether to leave it as it was on the day that their chlid died.

We should allow cameras into the crime scenes; show what first responders are dealing with when the call is received for these types of incidents. Put the body-worn camera footage out there. I think people would be so angry and traumatized they wouldn't just demand -- they'd remove any politician that condoned continuing the carnage that is taking place. I've talked to parents, responders, and communities that have been devastated by these incidents. What appears on our news is whitewashed bull-sh-t that caters to the "more guns" crowd thinking if everyone had a gun, we'd all be safer. Only the United States has this massive problem and it's because politicians catered to the gun manufacturers who were given immunity and protected from litigation in return for showering cash on those elected cowards in the guise of a thing called the NRA.

All lawsuits, allow criminal prosecution of manufacturers and sales and you'd see a quick turnaround just like tobacco faced.
 
Today's school shooting - body count, so far, 2 dead, at least 7 injured. Religious school this time.

Multiple people have been injured in a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin, police say.

The Madison Police Department said it was responding to the shooting at 10:57 a.m. Monday and urged people to avoid the area around the school.

Several casualties have been reported, Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes told CNN, though no exact number was provided. Multiple injured have been transported to hospitals, including students and a staff member who may have fatal injuries, he added.

Just in time for seasonal GQP 'thoughts and prayers' and the Christmas recess so that no one has to do anything about the guns except to recommend that people buy more of them for under the tree!!!

This is one a few of religious-affiliated schools that have been hit. The last big one was Covenant School in Nashville, a Presbyterian school where 3 children and 3 adults (plus the shooter) were killed. That was discounted because the shooter identified as trans and hate posted hate-filled rhetoric toward the school.

'Tis the season for the next round of Republican Christmas cards with the politicians' family and their guns. Well, except for the Boeberts...
