I know this is the 3rd thread about this movie but I thought it was worth making rather than resurrecting a dead thread...

If anyone saw Transformers in the movie theatres you will have seen a trailer for a monster movie by JJ Abrams. It had no title and only a working title...

Well the new trailer will be released on Friday preceding Beowulf... and it is officially called Cloverfield...

I have a friend who works as a movie theatre manager and he called me today to inform me that the new trailer looks awesome... still no sign of the monster... and it's official title..

Apparently this is a brand new monster movie....a never before seen monster... not a remake ...according to JJ Abrams himself...

The entire movie is spliced footage from multiple hand cameras put together after the event.

Woah... Freaky ass trailer.

Got a couple questions though.

What was that first explosion??

And what do you think the monster is? a Dinosaur/Godzilla thing, an Alien Creature, a Giant Robot, or something else?

Can't really appreciate the trailer on Youtube... Ill have to check out the movie in the theaters to see a better quality. But thanks though, the movie does seem interesting.

It could be good, you never know.

But if it ends up like the Blair Witch Project, i'll demand my money back.

I would suspect that it's actually a movie shot with good cameras and that the trailer is just done from a 'hand camera' perspective for style and to get people interested. Hopefully, the actual movie is a 'movie'-reel.

Still, more trailers need to be like this. Cryptic trailers leave the audience interested instead of just telling people what's happening and how it will have to end like the majority have been.

The movie is shot completely with hand cameras...

Its a "day after" piece where various personal footage is combined to form a story on what actually happened...
