Golden Globe-nominated actors are expected to snub the awards in support of striking Hollywood writers, the actors union said Friday.

After canvassing nominees over the past several weeks, Screen Actors Guild President Alan Rosenberg said in a statement, "there appears to be unanimous agreement that these actors will not cross the picket lines to present or accept an award."

The Writers Guild of America had earlier refused to grant a waiver to allow its members to work on the Globes, the People's Choice Awards and the prestigious Academy Awards.......................................

....................The Globes without writers OR presenters or winners there to accept???

What the fuck??? Why even go on with the show???

And what about the Oscars coming up...........yikes!

i guess they're going to have to post the winners on their respective websites and mail out the awards.

Why even air the show then? Its not like most people watch for the awards anyway.

Oh and Rumer Willis is Miss Golden Globe this year. Sucks to be her! lmao!

Good for the actors for standing up for the writers. It's nice to see some solidarity. The actors know that without the writers there is nothing. Too bad the networks and studios don't see that.

I usually like the GG's as they normally have lots of stars and a more relaxed atmosphere. The big question mark is whether this will happen again at the Oscars ?

This has gotten ridiculous. They seem to be getting nowhere with this strike.
It has been going on for two months now, meantime people are out of work, shows are in danger of getting axed altogether and no one is even talking anymore. I mean WTF?
They need to lock these people in a room and only allow them to leave to go to the bathroom, and keep up locked up until they come to an agreement.
They haven even sat down and talked since mid December, I just don't get it.
I am in support of the writers, but I do think some sort of arrangement should have been worked out so that the awards could be held. I mean who are they hurting here, depriving themselves of this award show..

I just wish the strike would be over. The general public at large are not heavily invested in the details of the strike and are not going to be happy about not seeing the stars at the golden globes or any more new episodes. I hope this strike ends soon.

Doubtful the strike will end soon.... i mean heads of these TV companies are hardly at a short for money they probably don't have to work another day of their lives... so, they're probably making the writers suffer for their strike

You don't keep your job as the head of a network if you can't keep the money flowing in. And you don't keep the money flowing in by saying, "Sorry - we don't have anything to show you this week."

And trust me - they want to keep their jobs.

Well, there ARE too many award shows, but they couldn't start with boycotting the Teen Choice Awards, or The Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards?
