..as a species.

when we're all gone, whether it be tomorrow, or in a few million years. Time will go on just the same, something will replace us, most likely... Maybe it won't even be intelligent. That'd suck.

It's just weird when you think of things on a grand sale. Grinding by every day life, working your repetitive job, sitting in traffic, watching television.(lol who does that anymore) but for real, philosophers got it right, NASA has it right, we need to make a collective effort as a human race to understand MORE about EVERYTHING.

What do you think will find our remains in the future? If anything at all.

I hate to believe our species was born alone in the universe and might end alone.
That's a very sad, lonely thought.

Irrational depression is amazing. It really is.

Thoughts?

I think its brilliant, stops me feeling guilty about putting myself first, having fun, party, drinking, sex, as we are all so insignificant, I want to have a great time being insignificant. Stop worrying about it and get laid at the party!

Nope, this is actually rational depression. And it's totally a side effect of irrational depression because either your neurochemical movie theater has decided to go on strike today, or something else bad (something your rational mind probably considers not that big a deal) happened that led to a chain reaction of moods and thoughts, culminating in this thinking about depressing realities which you generally ignore when you're happy.

I'm convinced that's how it works, though I may be wrong.

Haha, that makes a decent amount of sense. :)

But then again, maybe the universe wouldn't exist without you being here to acknowledge it.

Maybe the self is the supreme being.

I'd like to believe that everything was this complicated :)

I have the perfect picture for this thread :)

I don't think we should be so quick to write ourselves off as insignificant. As has been mentioned, in the realm of quantum weirdness, some physicists believe the mere presence of an observer continuously reshapes reality throughout all of time.

It's even possibe that our present reality is an elaborate effect of our descendants' future observations.

science fiction may becomes true.
Star tracks may becomes a reality ....... who knows.
