I thought about starting a thread with this topic but scrapped the idea after correctly anticipating the cavalier attitude it would be met with.

I suppose it's hard to get overly concerned with existential threats when it's someone else's farmland that's on fire and residents of some other city are to boil their water and shower with their mouths closed but did you see the dress Cate Blanchett wore to that press conference? What was she thinking? Has the world gone MAD?????

Quite honestly I think it's what we deserve and I wish we'd get it over with so the planet can heal for a few million years. Having such a relatively tiny carbon footprint™ is frustrating in this respect, but I try to do my part by not recycling. I wish I could do more, but I'm only one man.

In order to assure my personal comfort, which is all that really matters, I will probably wait until after the 2024 election to see if America can get back on its feet again. If not, I'll just start voting republican and when things start getting too wiley I'll just float off into the greenish-brown sunset on a magic carpet made of clonazepam and oxy.
