Really big, but somewhat frigid. Alas, size is not everything.;)

America was very fortunate to have Canadian radar stations in the Arctic give warning of missiles from the USSR going over the North Pole, so that was not an option for them during the Cold War.

I love being able to see the line where the prairie gives way to forest, and where the forest gives way to tundra. Driving the Trans Canada from Winnipeg to Thunder Bay, you can see the transition just near the Manitoba/Ontario border.

And, for such a young country, Canada's noticeably bald up top.

It's inhabited. It has to be for us to keep the land in Canada. See that island just to the left of Northern Greenland? Alert is at the northern tip of that island, Ellesmere.

A bit of trivia:

Canada uses a Letter/Number/Letter Number/Letter/Number postal code system. The postal code for the North Pole where Santa lives is officially H0H 0H0.

Alert, Nunavut is an amazing place and there is a surprising amount of wildlife for such an inhospitable climate.

Thanks, Neil. That's cute.

I wasn't referring to population, btw, but to the regressive foliage

Yeah. It is a bit chilly for Petunias.

Here's a news report about Alert made by our local television station (CHEX Peterborough):

Listen to me very slooooowly, Slops.

Land masses are old. Countries are political entities. New ones are made all the time. Canada wasn't a country until the Brits and French confederated all those tribal lands and made it into Canada.

No homework assignment.

slooooooooooow lee

nie see 1st world doins it stuff

_lowwwwwwwwwwleeeeee_

thankyou

I have an elderly relative in British Columbia who decided to downsize after being widowed. She sent us a video of her new, smaller, house. It's VAST.

British Columbia is ridiculously beautiful and temperate, but that makes it expensive. Vast houses come as much better bargains elsewhere.

How do you know it? Have you been? That would be a very rare experience.

I love my neighbours across the lake!
My heart's desire also just happens to live there.
(Hint, hint, he's very PreTTy!) :D
