I seriously doubt there is any basis for a lawsuit. For defamation of character, the statement has to be false. I don't see how it would be discrimination and even if it was, it's not a protected class in most places. With regard to harassment, I doubt that would fly either. The bottom line is that it was classless for her to do what she did, but there probably isn't much he can do about itl. I'm sure she probably did more damage to her reputation than she did to his.
 
I agree with the statement that in a year or two this will seem SO small to you. I wasn't very accepted by my friends in college for being gay either. I've moved on from that and gotten on with my life.
 
If demanding and/or expecting accountability for one's own actions puts me in the douchebag category, I'll wear that designation with pride.

I'm glad things aren't as horrible as they at first seemed, but I'd again urge you to drop the "my ex is a ho" routine. You've got enough burdens to drag around without carrying that grudge around, too.

I still don't get why you think (thought) your friends would be unaccepting. You do have a gay, greek cheering roomate that is accepted right? Would they say, it's ok for Blake to be gay but not you?
