If he was drinking and driving than he truly was the "Jackass".

Sympathy for the families, and perhaps his passenger, but not for him. He was driving drunk at an insane speed--he could have killed others on the road. Thank heavens he killed himself before that happened. Good riddance.

Roger Ebert, the movie critic, is currently getting some heat for weighing in on this saying something to the effect of his death being a result of drunk driving. I don't know what the big deal is about this, if intoxication was indeed the cause then what's wrong with pointing that out? I feel sorry for many things in life but I don't feel sorry for those who drink and drive because they choose their destiny. That passenger friend must have been also drunk to get into the car of a drunk driver.

Of course I'm saying all this assuming that he was drunk and it's a big possibility that he was drunk because before the crash he tweeted pix of him drinking beer and taking shots.

Whether he had a Drinking problem, Drug Problem, was a Prostitute, or had issues being Gay the Man is dead. The BIG Deal is that he was a human being and somebody's Child.....

When I read threads where Jubers talk about how they suffer from "Depression" and other Mental problems reading negative responses about another human beings death should NOT surprise me...

You're a sorry human being.

No one know if he was drunk yet, and so most of you "saints" shouldn't be so quick to judge him on that - of course, i'll be the VERY first to rescind this statement if it shows that he was, in fact, drunk(above the legal limit). Yeah, he was drinking - people do that, and to blame him for that is inane. But the fact that you don't think his PASSENGER is worth sympathy with that little flippant remark is even more sickening to me, as no matter what happens later on, he's STILL the victim in this story.

I can only hope that you don't fall from that pedestal of yours and do something stupid.

The person that is killed by a drunk driver is also someone's family member
It is never okay to drink and drive or speed and drive, it is a selfish thoughtless and dangerous thing to do and is basically threatening your life, the passengers and anyone who has the misfortune to be on the road at the same time.
Ryan Dunn should not get to do it any more than anyone else because he happens to be famous. When you are driving you are not a legend, a star or a celebrity, you are a person who is behind the wheel of a 2 ton death trap on wheels that should be treated with the utmost carefulness at all time.

Sorry for the rant, I hate when people drive like somehow they are special so they can do whatever they want

Sorry, I don't have any pity for a person that chooses to put the lives of his passengers and the public at risk by drinking and driving and speeding to boot.
If that sounds cold, too bad. I know someone who is now in a wheelchair because of someone else's selfish choice to drink and drive.
Dunn's actions took the life of someone else's child..and could have taken many more.

If he had put his life to something worthwhile, we might know a little more specifically what was lost to humanity in the crash, but as it is, post-Jackass, we only know that the planet is down two from five billion or so. I wouldn't want Jackass to be my legacy, no matter how I die.

So you get to decide what's worthwhile in life now?

He did what he enjoyed, wasn't harming anyone(but himself, and that's just in his work as a Jackass and Viva La Bam alum - he HAS done other things, as recently as this year), and he was lucky enough to be paid for it. Isn't that what most people hope to do?

Makes me think of you in a whole other light, quite frankly.

I'm bummed about it - I am an almighty Jackass fan.

We've all done stupid things and gambled from time to time and most of the time we've got away with it; I doubt any of us is blameless or entirely innocent in that regard. Whether drunk or speeding or not, it's a sad story all the same.

They figured he was driving 130 mph (209km/h) at the time of the crash. Maintaining control of a car at that speed is difficult enough when you're not impaired, much less being impaired as he was. His BAC was twice the legal limit.

My condolences to his family.

his toxicology reports have been released. his blood alcohol level was double the legal limit.

This attitude is the problem. A lot of people want to escape taking personal responsibility for their own actions. People don't want to be criticized and want to be treated like babies with positive reinforcement no matter how shitty of a decisions they make in life. This faulty idea of having to tolerate everything and forgiving everyone no matter what they do ends up like this--death! Dunn did not die of a disease like cancer. His fate was sealed by his poor and reckless choices in life. Not only his selfishness feel good choices killed himself but also his passenger. I don't know who the passenger is, but if I had a friend like Dunn, you can bet that I will never sit in a car with them knowing that they like to party and are known for being famous adult juveniles.

Social Darwinism took its course here. No feel good R.I.P s and tears will change the fact that a healthy guy killed himself and a friend because of reckless choices he made on free will. I know several people that were killed by drunk drivers, so I have zero sympathy for DUI. If you go out to a party and want to drink, get yourself a ride, don't think your selfish ass is the only one on the road.

No sympathy from me.

No one should ever get behind the wheel of a vehicle when they've been drinking, and anyone who choses to accompany them in their folly is an idiot.

The only positive thing about that crash was that he didn't end up killing anyone else.

None of the stupid things I've done over the years put other people's lives in danger.
Drunk driving is a criminal act that kills and injuries thousands of people each year. It is not a mistake. Driving over 100 miles an hour where the speed limit is 55 is not a mistake.
They are choices that put other lives at risk, and in this case, cost another man his life.
I will shed no tears for Ryan Dunn. He made a selfish choice and died because of it.
I will save them for the victims of drunk driving and the families they leave behind.

This. We all know better. I feel sorry for any family that is left behind to pick upt he emotional pieces. However I dont consider it a cheap shot to call it like it is and in this case it was brazen stupidity.

Dunn was born in Ohio and moved at age 15 to Pennsylvania, where he met fellow "Jackass" cast mate Bam Margera on his first day of high school, according to a biography posted on his website.

Margera visited the crash site Tuesday, telling WTXF-TV that he was devastated by Dunn's death.
"I've never lost anybody that I cared about. It's my best friend," Margera told WTXF, weeping.

"He was the happiest person ever, the smartest guy. He had so much talent, and he had so many things going for him. This is not right, not right."

:(

And, like I said(after seeing this link and a couple of others), i'll be the first to rescind my statement about his drinking.

What a fucking waste. No, I won't go as far as saying i'm happy he's dead, but Darwin scored a very ugly victory here... and the worst part is, it DID cause someone else to lose his life too.

^He's not gay, has no political agenda, isn't a soldier, or even a huge pop culture icon(by himself at least).

Why?
