you are right---I think I know why it's intense for me--but then again I can do that laying down---maybe standing has something to do with it:p
 
It's partly due to standing - we have a tendency to squeeze our butt cheeks and thrust our hips more intensely than when we're lying or sitting.

Whatever works for you and however you enjoy it, go for it dude!
 
Not so much anymore. Although I used to do it a lot several years ago, since foreskin was still kinda tight (It took until early twenties to actually realise it was supposed to retract) and masturbating in the shower seemed to help loosen it up.

I've jerked in the shower a few times. Getting off while standing is intense. It was always great when I got off fast, but got ugly if it took too long.
