Here's his side of the story. And while I'm sure the truth is somewhere in between, Corbin Fisher IMO has truly come off looking like scum in this, no matter how hard the lawyers try to spin it. Congrats on the blacklisting Corbin, yet another reason I'm glad I'm not a member anymore.

The whole prospect is really scary and a horrible situation to be in, but as is human nature, I fully expect that there is some embellishment and down-playing of certain aspects of this story. I doubt that he's 100% the innocent party. But the methods were definitely intimidating and heavy handed.

Well I hope for his sake it is over and he can move on. I can see both sides but its like companies going after a single person 10's or thousands of dollars knowing they don't have it. Eventually someone has to say look, we need to sit down and hash out a reasonable payment plan. Sure the money you owe is is a drop in the bucket BUT never the less you owe us and we want to be paid so you pay us said dollars per month because we know about what you make in this industry. If you dont want to work with us, then all bets are off. Young people are naive, as some are the older ones, like the ones who think they can do porn and their family won't ever find out, or thinking a lein holder will let you complete school for years and then HOPE you get a job and HOPE they get paid, but you also need to know who represents you and make sure they are on the up and up because they will take advantage of you if they can but when it all said and done, you will be held liable. Hopefully this will be past him and he can do what he does best, at least for now, porn :)

******* UPDATE*********
I guess I spoke to soon. According to Jakes website, CF is wanting to settle with him ONLY with conditions, which he didn't mention so I' can't truly said if its unreasonable. The only thing I would think is they told him not to use images from their site featuring him and to no longer talk about CF in any manner and that is reasonable to me, anything else which doesn't affect them is just them trying to control the situation.

While the way they pursued the matter might have been extreme, and it sounds like it may have bordered on harassment, ignorance of the law does not protect one from breaking it.

This young man needs to start making better decisions--not checking the law regarding copyright, barebacking against his beliefs and then not showing up to court show a serious lack of good judgment on his part. At least he is planning on paying the donation Corbin Fisher generously allowed him as a choice to settle the matter.

Hopefully the next part of his career will be trouble-free. (And hopefully he won't pay $54,000 for an Associates Degree.)

This young man uses so many polysyllabic words! I had to read some sentences thrice over.

I fully comprehend copyright infringement but CF went after Jake like he was Dawson. As "Greg", Jake made no impact. Whatsoever. A politely assertive "Dear Jake, please pull our photos from that site. Best, Corbin Fisher." would've sufficed. Instead, their badass 'tude came back to bite them in the ass.

Indeed it did. I'm sorry but suing someone for a million dollars makes you look like a bully, no matter how you try to spin it.

Yep and it just reinforces my feeling that CF is in dire straits and coming across so desperate. I don't get that from their rival sites. At all.

If they were in dire straights they wouldn't sue somebody for who obviously doesn't have 'deep pockets'. Initiating a litigation isn't cheap: I'm sure this suit set them back several thousand dollars. They were obviously trying to prove a point. Tends to make me believe the CF side of the story: they asked him on several occasions to remove the pictures and he refused. This isn't 'Noah' using his Cameron Frost beefcake shots on his professional model portal -- this is a hustler turning tricks trying to cash-in on the cachet of being an "Amateur College Man".

I'm sure they considered the publicity ramifications of their suit prior to filing. The fact that the industry seems to be standing toe-to-toe with Corbin Fisher on this issue also tends to support their version of events.

Dire straits in that they're so lacking in confidence right now in their own product that they were willing to publicly take on an amateur gay porn "nobody" to get industry sites, blogs, messageboards talking about CF. As I said previously, I comprehend copyright infringement but Jake made no impact at CF at all. He was hired, did 2-3 unmemorable scenes and was out of there. I don't think they were trying to prove a point, legal or otherwise. They wanted the publicity very much in the same vein that in a span of 6 wks, they hired 5 non-white models including a female. From 2004 to most of 2010, were there even 5 minorities at CF? Sounds like dire straits to me.

Based on the huge size of the thread on this board, and the controversy on other blogs like "WayBig", buzz is one thing Corbin Fisher has never had any difficulty generating. Their "is he or isn't he?" formula still seems to do a pretty good job of that. I really don't think they'd put themselves through the considerable expense of a legal suit for a silly publicity stunt. It obviously hasn't made them popular with fans.

Yep, it backfired because Jake is a nobody and IMO to gay porn fans it looked like they were strong-arming someone for a reason that didn't affect the income of CF. Clearly, they're scrambling over at CF (target a "nobody", unprofessional behavior of their legal counsel, unable to retain models, out of the blue they're hiring lots of non-white people).

What your saying makes no sense to me. Obviously, they knew that they were going to be perceived as bullies. I honestly think they did it because they didn't want the site to be associated with prostitution. They told the guy to take their pictures down and he didn't. He dared them to sue him, and they took him up on it. Seriously, Randazza must charge at least $300/hr. I can't imagine that he'd take on a plaintiff suit against somebody with no assets to recover.

There was another former model who works as a rent-boy out of Chicago (can't recall his name). For a time he had Cameron Frost pictures on his site, but the last I checked they were gone. He must have listened to them.

I think this suit might be part of a greater strategy to define Corbin Fisher's intellectual property with the ultimate end of cutting down on piracy, which must cost all these sites dearly. At the least, they seem to like to control the product: look at how fast the jumped on the Brody thing.

Again, this isn't Colin using some of his CF beefcake shots on his "I wanna be a Model" portal page.

Quite honestly, this suit is possibly the best thing that could have happened to Jake Lyon's career, both in front of the camera and on his back. He's okay looking, but I wouldn't pay money to watch him, much less have a $300 'date'.

CF called Jake's bluff and in the end, it wasn't worth it because they got bad publicity (bully!). I get your point and the whole issue with branding and copyright infringement but as we all know, Jake Lyons is a nobody. I'm not fan, didn't like his work on CF or any other site. That being said, he was not worth the time, money and tarnished rep.

You may not have been a fan and not liked his videos, but that doesn't mean everyone felt the same way. I for one like his videos and wish he made more, and aren't some of his videos he made after he left Corbin Fisher some of the more popular ones of 2010, so apparently not everyone agrees with you.

I might be wrong, but in the Corbin Fisher thread there was something about top bareback videos or something and I think one of his videos was listed in that list.

Former model = Vince?

The guys at Lotus (remember them?) used to say that in the US they sold one copy of their spreadsheet for every ten that ran; in Germany they sold one copy for every hundred that ran; and in Israel they sold one copy. They also cautioned that obsessing over piracy was a waste of time and estimated that even if they had perfect protection only about 5% of the pirates would ever pay for a program.

I think you're right that Jake was the winner here, although he sounded a little whiny in the interview. Advice to Jake: Never let 'em see you sweat.

There are other sites where the model would star in movies and do promotions for other companies and be welcomed back with open arms. CF just seems like a scary company to work for which is why I will never buy a membership from them. They probably have to sign their contract in blood.

You're absolutely right. Not everyone agrees with me so I do apologize to you or anyone else that I gave the impression to that the JUB posters represent all gay guys who watch porn. !oops! I was basing it on feedback from the CF thread but I wasn't a member (nor a subscriber) when "Greg" was at CF. At the time, Jake may have been a big star-in-the-making (primed for The Dean's List) and I just didn't know it. I was going by the comments on the CF thread and in the year that I've been here, I've never read anything like "I miss Greg", "bring Greg back", etc. I'm still not into Jake in the least but I don't knock his hustle.

I like Jake in that he's a power bottom that enjoys taking it.
And like Stone said, there have been models that have worked for other companies and when they go back to the web, there are no hard feelings.
I don't think that's the case with CF

Do you think CF will leave him alone after he pays back the $5400?
