This is pretty cool. :cool:

It's a time-lapse video of the International Space Station orbiting the Earth on the night/dark side. A full orbit takes about 90 minutes, and this is the night side of Earth, so it's about 45 minutes of orbit compressed into about 1 minute.

As the International Space Station orbits Earth from north to south at night, you can see the lights of Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles/San Diego, Phoenix, Tucson, Torreón, Durango, México City, Managua, San José (then I lose track under the clouds) São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and then I lose track again.

It's also very cool to see the lightning in the storms over Central America. Reminds me of my days of flying. :D

The clip ends with the sun on the horizon as the ISS reaches Antarctica.
