JakeLucas Appreciation thread

I see you like biking,I'm more of a walking/hiking guy.

definitely not a biking day today here, not with over an inch of rain expected and winds around 30mph

Hi, Kuli! (*8*)

I hear ya! No biking weather here, either. It was 71°F here today (a record) but 100% humidity and rain.

Only 38° here tomorrow and 25° on Monday.

Went out yesterday --glad we weren't in a hurry to get to transplanting trees, because anything faster than the equivalent of a quick jog, the cold cut right through windbreaker, sweater, shirt, and insulated tee. VERY glad that I had my insulated rain pants along for the return ride!

We put some buckets to use, too -- raked gravel from a ridge of loose stuff and spread it on a stretch of 3" rock that has been nasty to ride on... very nice on the return.

Jake, have you ever been involved in setting up a bike race -- I mean one that's never been done before?

I'm thinking it would be fun to run a bike race on the sandspit where my Friends of Bayocean is doing trail and conservation work. The race would have to be when there's a low tide, so the beach would be a good surface, but there are also some trails and the (rough gravel) road out to the jetty.
