When I was about 10 years old, my brother and I were making pancakes for breakfast one Saturday. We asked mom if we could put some food coloring in the batter and make our pancakes blue.

Mom said, "You're not going to like them if they are blue." Well, we thought that was silly. After all, they were still pancakes, just blue.

So we made about about ½ dozen blue pancakes. After about 3 bites, we couldn't eat them anymore. They still tasted like pancakes, but they were.... blue. :##:

^I remember making blueberry muffins when I was young when the berries were mashed, turning the batter into blue-purple. And the muffins turned out that way inside, too.
 
ABout the only thing with food coloring I touch is shamrock shakes and green beer.

My sister was born on Christmas Day, so for her birthday we have a Red (and Green) Velvet Cake. (2 red layers with a green layer in-between)
