Good evening from northern Texas, I hope you're all doing well.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, infamous for her signing of the "Papers Please Law", also known as SB-1070, is now pulling her ads from the local CBS affilitate, KPHO-Television in Phoenix, after that's station's investigative reporter, Morgan Loew, exposed some improprieties with her campaign. Operatives with the Brewer campaign are also making nasty personal attacks against both Mr. Loew and CBS 5.

Here's Rachel's coverage from earlier tonight.

Observation: In past weeks, Rachel has been commenting, off-the-cuff, that this election year may well be the most entertaining yet.

And I thought Sharron Angle running from Nathan Baca was a :corn: moment. Turns out, we may yet have a lot of those :corn: moments yet still to come.

Who wants some? :corn:

Wait... Why didn't Justapixel© make a thread about this obviously corrupt politician who's making laws that will result in a lot of new customers for the prisons she's got connections..

Oh.. right...

He's too busy making up stories about Obama having affairs or being from Kenya.

I saw the trainwreck of a debate for governor of Arizona tonight. She lied on the democratic governor candidate saying he was against 1080 and then refused to backdown from her statements that Arizona has found beheaded bodies and all illegal immigrants come to transport drugs.

Janet "High School Diploma" Brewer is a real work. (Btw, I didn't give her that title. Someone else did.)

The sad thing is that Jan has a good chance of getting reelected. She's popular since she passed all those laws Neopalitano vetoed year after year. Knowing this state, I don't imagine her losing her seat any time soon.

Granted, I'm a known cynic when it comes to anything political.

Two of my brothers live down in Phoenix, and I hear about the backasswards govt of Arizona / Phoenix. It's so bizarre.

Yes and big cities are supposed to be tolerant and a community for everyone. Arizona State and its snub of Barack Obama shows you want Phoenix is all about. Evidently his hasn't achieved much to warrant an honorary doctorate, yet our governor has just a high school degree.

More and more personal cheap shots. How sad. A high school graduate who become Governor of a U.S. state. That's quite an accomplishment. What have you done with your diploma?

Brewer is an Idiot and she has no idea what she is doing.

This republican habit of just making stuff up is bringing the country to a breaking point. I think we need to start suing the politicians for lying in office.

Construct, is that even possible?

That's no accomplishment.

This reverse snobbery thing is just infectious among conservatives isn't it?

People with limited education, but a tremendous intellectual capacity for nuanced thinking and thirst for knowledge are to be admired. People who daily demonstrate that they are incapable of thinking above a high school level on issues are not. They are what they are, no matter how rich or powerful they become.

a degree in law or political science would be nice, for the executive branch and senate, but I have no problem with the everyday man running for office in the house. I think there should be a one term limit on the house so that ordinary people are encouraged to run.

taking two years out of your life to serve your country is admirable and I think many would consider running if that change was made that normally wouldn't.

as it stands now, the person with the cash gets the spot, and education is unimportant.

Cutting the press off is a BAD BAD move because what they lost in local advert money they are gaining three fold in national exposure to their station.

Careers are made in journalism over this kind of thing.

not only that but the beheading thing was a lie and illegal immigration is down by as much as fifty percent, recent reports are reporting....

In fact, the opposite is true. According to a February report by the Department of Homeland Security, the number of illegal immigrants living in the U.S. actually dropped by a whopping 1 million between 2008 and 2009, which amounts to the sharpest decrease in 30 years. It was the second year of declining numbers.

Likewise, the Border Patrol reports that apprehensions are down by more than 60% since 2000, to 550,000 last year, the lowest number in 35 years, even though the border is more tightly controlled than ever. As William Finnegan wrote in last week's New Yorker, "The southern border, far from being 'unsecured,' is in better shape than it has been for years — better managed and less porous."

That's a Karl Rove technique. Make up a lie and continue repeating it over and over and loudly. Eventually people will hear it and believe it because it's repeated over and over again. Demagogue, spread fear and those frightened people will vote for you.

Republicans have learned well from Rove. They can't run on the issues because they simply don't have the problem solving skills or the answers. When the undereducated like Brewer run for office that's the only way they have a chance for winning. Besides, she has ulterior motives for her office and that's money. It's the prison thing.

But the Rove stuff didn't work for McCain. He managed to amass a group of people with so much hate that they spun off into their own teabagger parties, but he didn't win.

Brewer will have to deal with the press, and if the republicans think they can just cut the press out of the picture and still get elected then they are flirting with doom.

Right. And look how Brewer deals with the press. Lies and when asked to clarify what she says she goes running off just like the dingbat from Nevada.

Remember, McCain is a Maverick *wink wink*.

:rotflmao: McCain is a Maverick...until he decides not to be one. ;)

To the common person who may not know the Inside Baseball of politics, this stuff from Jan Brewer, Sharron Obtuse Angle, and Ma' Grizzly (Sarah Palin) may look like Saturday Night Live fodder.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Cue the Benny Hill music!!! :rotflmao:
