She should tour with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings. Would be a helluva show.

Amazing performance...again.

Does anyone except some black folk even watch BET? or this show for that matter?

Thank goodness for youtube. Saved me hours of my life.

I watch BET (mainly The Mo'Nique Show) and its sister station Centric (really likedModel City). I saw an hour of the BET Awards. I'm taping the repeat so I can see the Prince tribute and El Debarge doing his group's hits.

I saw her in concert in June. She opened for Erykah Badu. She's pretty and she can sing. I like that she maintained high energy on stage, even though she was alloted only a small portion of the stage for her performance.

how awesome. earlier today i was wondering if cold war had an official video, but when i went to wikipedia, nothing. glad to find it here. 8)

Someone elsewhere posted she was on "So You Think You Can Dance". Not my thing. Anyone catch her performance?

i don't watch that show much, either, so i missed the performance. but someone's uploaded it to youtube.

watch?v=7IwShR9gvOQ (i cant post links yet, sooo, that's the /code.

i don't like tightrope as much as i like other songs of hers (cold war -coughcough-) but i liked what i saw and heard.

Janelle Monáe, the saddle-shoed, pompadoured singer-songer behind ‘Tightrope’ and ‘Cold War’, has announced her new album, entitled The Electric Lady, via animated GIF http://www.jmonae.com/sites/jmonae....lic/201304/jm_annoucement_0.gif?itok=D828WzOD.

On April 22 (at exactly 7:54pm EST, apparently), she’ll release ‘Q.U.E.E.N.’, a single that features Erykah Badu. The queen of neo-soul has said that Monáe is keeping her on her “A-game:” “Secretly, I feel that I have to go out and crush her. We’re best friends, though: she’ll only find that out by reading this.”

^YES. YES. YES!!!

April is looking up already - new Arsis AND new Janelle Monae? I think I feel manly tears of joy welling up...
