January 12th Marzipan Day - do you like it ?

We give and receive it on St. Nicholas Eve.
Like it very much, and made it myself once.

When I was in Toledo more than twenty years ago, Americans would buy marzipan rounds in oblong boxes, take one bite after the first one, and then throw away the whole box.

I'd get the marzipan out of the garbage bags.

Toledo had almond groves.

Toledo marzipan isn't as sweet as Dutch marzipan.
 
Bleech no! I was a kid and my dad had gotten some as a birthday gift well they were shaped like fruit I made the mistake of thinking hey these are fruit flavored oh how wrong I was, anyone wants my marzipan they can have it!
