Jeb Bush was asked if he had entertained any thoughts about running for president. His reply was that if he were to run, he would run on the Bush legacy. :rotflmao:

The Bush Legacy?

Let's see...arrogance, ignorance and incompetence.

Yep; that's pretty much it.

Good luck with that campaign, Jeb!

Don't forget war, recession, corruption, torture, failure.

The country couldn't take another Bush in the Oval Office.

Wonder if he's planning on asking Dick Cheney (such an appropriate first name ;)) to yank his strings and be his 'puppetmaster' as well?

oh dear, this whole bushy family for president thing is sickening.

It is worst than Egypt.
Mubarak is unable to make his son president but in America, a president can make his 2 sons to be presidents ?

No it isn't. Mubarak would install his son, but there would be an election here that Jeb would have a very difficult time winning.

Jeb is immensely popular in Florida, especially among Hispanic voters.

He means he would campaign on the slogan "I can't possibly be as bad as my brother!"

God No, two Bushes were enough. There has to be someone else.

With the current Republican stance on illegal aliens, Hispanics in particular, I'm sure that Jeb's popularity in past elections will be eclipsed. I can't imagine any Hispanic that would even consider not voting Republican!

No chance.

If we were going to do that, we should have elected Hillary.
Then we would have had Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton, Bush -- and then we could elect Chelsea....

Lordy, Lordy, Lordy!!!!
But then he's Florida's problem now.
Thank God he is not here anymore.
Oh, yeah, after Jeb there is his son. Old what's his name.

Why in the world would anyone want to vote for another Bush? Daddy Bush's presidency was mediocre at best and W's presidency was a total failure.

That's right, here is one of Jeb's positions, it was real popular too. I bet it would be even more popular in states such as Arizona in 2012!

Jeb Bush backs licenses for illegal aliens

By Don Irvine | April 8, 2004

The AP reported yesterday that Florida Governor Jeb Bush is backing a bill to grant illegal aliens drivers licenses. He said that they are in the state anyway and that officials should accept the fact. “We shouldn’t allow them to come into the country to begin with, but once they’re here, what do you do?” “A policy that ignores them is a policy of denial” So instead of trying to enforce the immigration laws he is now rewarding illegal aliens with one of the most prized possessions in America, a drivers license.

I'm not sure he would go very far in the process.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Army Corps of Engineers, rushing to meet President Bush's promise to protect New Orleans by the start of the 2006 hurricane season, installed defective flood-control pumps last year despite warnings from its own expert that the equipment would fail during a storm, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.
The 2006 hurricane season turned out to be mild, and the new pumps were never pressed into action. But the Corps and the politically connected manufacturer of the equipment are still struggling to get the 34 heavy-duty pumps working properly.

--snip--

MWI is owned by J. David Eller and his sons. Eller was once a business partner of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in a venture called Bush-El that marketed MWI pumps. And Eller has donated about $128,000 to politicians, the vast majority of it to the Republican Party, since 1996, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

MWI has run into trouble before. The U.S. Justice Department sued the company in 2002, accusing it of fraudulently helping Nigeria obtain $74 million in taxpayer-backed loans for overpriced and unnecessary water-pump equipment. The case has yet to be resolved.

Jeb will never run for President. He had to be facetious if he actually made that "Bush Legacy" response.

Never say never. I wish the comment had been in jest, but I can't imagine any Bush being facetious about something as sacrosanct as the presidency. :help:

When he said that, I would read it as him making a funny jab at his brother's term in office. I would have to hear it, if those remarks were televised, so I can see how he said it. If he is actually being serious, I would be speechless.

If he runs in 2016 he will win...Jeb's Latino wife and son will help Rally the Latino-Community like we've never seen before...

It will be well planned and put together..Jeb would win...

He could even have Marco Rubio as his running mate! :D
