So I've been growing my hair out lately. As a result, my sideburns have been getting pretty long too. I went through a stretch with long sideburns before so I'm use to Elvis jokes. Everyone thinks that they're so funny and original when they call someone with long sideburns "Elvis."

Alright, so to give you a little background, I go to this Chinese place once a week called Yui's. It's delicious and they have terrific fried rice. But there's always this little girl who rings me up and gives me my food. She can't be more than 9. And it's all Chinese people who work there. I understand that maybe it's their culture to start working early. IDK. But she's always there and she always seem so unhappy. I just feel so bad because I didn't have to start working until I was like 15.

Anyway, I went there the other day and the little girl wasn't there. It was the old dude that I see sometimes. So he walks up and he's like "Oh, you look like Presley." And at first I'm like "What?" and he's like "You look like Presley." and then it registers that he's calling me Elvis. I'm just not use to people referring to Elvis as "Presley." But I think in China they do last names first or something. I'm pretty ignorant about that so don't yell at me I'm really not trying to be rude. I just think that's why he was calling me "Presley." Or maybe he's just an ass. IDK.

Anyway. Like I said, I'm use to that when I have long sideburns so I'm like "Yeah, haha. That's great." and he gives me my food, I pay, and then he goes overboard. He's like "Thank you very much."

Alright, I'm okay with people messing me with me ONCE about my sideburns. But this motherfucker is going to keep going? "Thank you, thank you very much." That's an Elvis line! I'm not going to put up with these people ridiculing me while I'm giving them my money. You know? That's just ridiculous. So I look at the guy and he's all smiling and shit. And I'm like "Yeah. Yeah I see how it is." And he starts looking at me all weird like he didn't do shit wrong.

God... I'm trying to calm myself down even as I write this. It's just so aggravating though. Anyway, I called child services on them for having the 9 year old working there. So we'll see how much he wants to joke next time I go in there. That asshole.

Do any of you run into assholes like this? I mean, they make REALLY good fried rice. So I'm not going to stop going there. But they're going to learn a lesson or two about how to treat their customers. Right?

I think he was just trying to be amiable.

Try not to let people have this kind of power over you.

He's just saying Thank You and knowing asians, they don't quote anyone because they don't think it's funny. Please think about what you did.

You guys don't understand. It was something in his eyes. He was like "Oh, thank you very much." And he had this little shit face smirk on his face. Like he had "got" me. You know?

Please, like Elvis is the only one in the world who had and was allowed to say, "Thank you very much."

Seems like you need an attitude service yourself.

And since when people can grin and smirk without generating the 'little shit face' expression?

Asians don't think that quoting is funny? I did not know that. I wish I knew more about different cultures. As I said, I'm very ignorant when it comes to that. Not because I don't want to know, just because I haven't really had the chance yet.

I still stand by my decision.

No, cause you weren't there. Cause he was smirking like that and then when I was leaving I looked over my shoulder, and I saw him going back to the kitchen and he was bobbing his head from side to side like he was going to go tell all his friend "Oh, I just go this white boy with an Elvis joke." Dude, if you were there you would understand.

^Now you're acting like a person who saw a person entering a building with a gun, then heard a gunshot, and saw the man running out with blood all over his body, and quickly jumped to the conclusion he shot someone, without even witnessing the real happening.

Most Asian people smirk at strangers. Especially for those who are not fluent with English, they tend to repeat their words again and again and again (like what you said "Thank you, thank you very much.").

But I guess you would just ignore all that since you're so ignorant of different people and their tendencies, even after someone who represents them explains it to you, and that what you see might not be what it seems, that you're so sure about jumping into conclusions.

IDK man. Maybe. I'm just messing around with all of this. None of this is true. Just kind of bored tonight and wanted to write something stupid. I do this a lot.

Edit: I really did get called "Presley" by a guy at a Chinese take out place but I just laughed with him. The rest I made up pretty much.

I don't know if you are trolling, but have a bit of humor.

I used to have sideburns and I took the comments and laughed with them, because I knew that sideburns looked tacky and shit. And nothing that occurred there sounded overtly like someone was harassing you.

1/10 for trolling.

edit: and actually saw your post-posting-post and now it make sense. well at least I got to use the muscle baby picture for something. *ticks it off the list*

lol. Well that's something. I'm sorry I'm a dork. It's a funny pic though.

Though you're trolling, I think the sad thing is that there would be too many guys take this attitude for real and be all "How dare this foreign Asian man disrepect me like that in my country." And thats why its bordering on not funny.

that's the beauty of Phlash's threads

..I remember getting snagged by his Baby In The Street thread !oops!

Weirdo's At The Gym was another good one

...Phlash isn't a troll

he's just got a great sense of humour

I don't reckon that. Maybe I don't have a sense of humor. That's why.
