jessica simpson's "i belong to me" failed to chart on the hot 100

i'm pretty shocked that jessica's second fan-picked single off from her public affair album "i belong to me" failed to chart on the hot 100. the second single has been flopping around lately on the bubbling under hot 100 chart for quite a while. the highest that her song peaked was at #10 on the chart and then it fell considerably. in september, she allowed her fans to choose three of her singles from her album. many of her fans chose "i belong to me" as the second single. she was about to release "you spin me round" before wanting a public opinion on the song that she wanted to release. i think there were two factors that contributed to the failure of her second single. first. the song was about her divorce from nick lachey. she mentioned much earlier that the song never had anything to do with her divorce which in turn had a lot to do with it. second, this single was never on her album. i bought her album three days after it was released on august 29th. i never found her track on the album. the single was only released on a walmart edition of her album.

overall, i'm very crapped out that her single tanked on the charts. i don't think there was no other way for her single to chart on the hot 100. her single was about her divorce and i don't think the public bought much into the song.

i hope that jessica can release more dance songs just like "a public affair" and her other previous dance hits. i think people don't want to hear anymore ballads from her except the upbeat, feel-good songs that we are used to hearing from her. can't wait for other song "fired up". seems like a chart-topper all the way!

The song is on my cd and i got it at Best Buy. Its the last song. I love this song soo much. It has a very raw and real feel to it. Also the video is beautiful.
 
This is just me, but I cant stand Jessica Simpson. I dont think she can sing that well. That song is so uncomfortable to listen too, and the video is so uncomfortable too. She is like trying to push out notes and she is trying to sing so badly in that song that it kinda makes it hard for me to breathe when I listen to it.
 
Moral of the story, that bitch is yesterday. All of that screaming and wobbly excuse of a vibrato... ugh! Enough is enough.
 
The song is on my cd and I bought it at FYE. I LOVE the song. I wish it had done better. It's played here a lot because it receives a lot of requests. And I don't think this song has anything to do with her divorce. At all.
 
Fired Up....You Spin Me Round....Boots....is she ever gonna write an original song??

Not to mention that "A Public Affair"was just Holiday mixed with Aint No Mountain.
 
She's never really had a big hit. even her "hits" were minor.music is not where her bread and butter are at and she knows it.

I noticed the beats were similar...very similar. But I like Jessica and although it irks me that its WAY too close to We Belong Together's beat, the song still meshes well with me, so I try to get past that :) Plus, the beats that are produced for Mariah sound like other songs as well, but mainly cause with songs like "Stay The Night," Kanye West sold the same beat to John Legend AND Mariah, so thats gay, but whatever. They made each song their own and I think that's what counts.
 
I love I belong to me it's a great song and it makes me feel good about myself.... Jessica do the damn thang
