Too bad..., theyre the only 2 U.S. Presidents I've had any admiration for in decades

I hear tell that at one point Jimmy wuz very distant when approached by Billy Clinton...............there is also a photo floating in cyber-land of all of the living Presidents standing next to each other in the oval office in which, although Jimmy is smiling, there is an obvious gap/space/open area between Jimmy and the other Prezs who stood closer together for the photo op...............don't ya just hate family squabbles...............especially between cousins Jimmy and Billy...............

Oh, by and by, the Bush family got their start in Ohio (albeit Southern Ohio--Columbus) not Texas...............

Carter has consistently put foot in mouth in criticizing sitting presidents

kind of a no no

especially when he was one of the worst presidents ever

he did do good work for the homeless

way over his head as president

proof that america is the land of opportunity and that anyone can be anything

not sure if there was in fact a snub but if so, deserved

The coverage I saw, showed Pappa Bush and Clinton being chummy.

Carter walked right past Clinton and they didn't appear to exchange any greetings. To me it looked like a snub..

Yeah thanks K., seems to be the same olde Jimmy (Hi, I'm Jimmy Carter), I wasn't able to watch the entire day's proceedings...........

...........I was able to watch the swearing in, Barack's inaugural speech (I've since listened to Barack's speech a second time---this time on the radio--and found it more substantial the second time I listened to it), and I watched a small portion of the inaugural parade...........

...........geezzzzzzzzz it seems to me that January in D.C. is too cold for an outside party...........

...........I think they (whoever is in charge of such things) need to change the inaugural to a milder D.C. season so we can sit outside and enjoy the celebration without freezing...........

Global warming will solve that problem soon enough.

^Well, global warming should have helped for today's festivities. :-)

Seriously, the Inaugural used to be in March, probably a better time, weather-wise.

Carter's a national disgrace. Clinton, as much as I disagree with him, he was an American president and had some cojones. Carter is just a dumbass who failed bigtime.

Well, at least Jimmy Carter joined the US Navy and served in a top position in developing a nuclear-powered fleet of submarines.

Reagan? Japped out --"Doc, I can't fight in WWII, I can't see hardly anything -- the only thing I can see is dollars, lots of 'em, playing war heroes here in Hollywood."

Then, too, Carter DID win a Nobel peace prize -- something the radicals on this forum think is the equal of blowing Burl Ives. Of course, Ronnie "Never Served, HAHAHA!" Reagan was responsible for the deaths of about 250 Marines in Lebanon -- seems she didn't know jack about war fighting. Then there was Coward Bush #1, who deployed not one, but TWO nuclear-powered aircraft carrier battle groups to invade, Uh, um, Grenada? Then there's George "The only thing I ever defended is my bar stool" Bush and Iraq. Need one say more?

Interesting post.............

So are suggesting that the US should fight wars with the least amount of force instead of overwhelming force.

Maybe you should join the military since you seem to know so much about tactics.

Interesting visual.

Obama, the new Democratic President, stands between the two Republican former Presidents, and like them is wearing a blue tie and a flag pin while the two Democratic former Presidents are wearing red ties and no flag pin.

Very interesting observation, NickCole. I have noticed that since the big flap over the pin and Obama, that he has consistantly worn the a pin since.

Awesome visual catch NickCole, I had originally noticed the tie colorings, the standing arrangement, but not the pins ..| ..................
