I have overheated my .22 mag lever action a few times. I ran through sixteen rounds in nine seconds on one of those, in the warm sun, at the end of a run of fifty rounds.

I'm talking about you saying that a really practiced gun fanatic can fire a single shot weapon nearly as fast as an automatic.

In most of these spree shootings automatics were used. If you're trying to make the weak claim that any disturbed teenager on a school rampage is going to do as well with a pump shottie or a handgun as something he can spray into a room or a theater I'm not convinced.
