This is an author I really like, in part to his capable use of the legal system of the US in his books, in one telling the truth behind a bad abuse of the system(The Innocent Man http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Innocent_Man). He is also an ex-politician and retired attorney, as well as the 1994 winner of the Bancarella Prize winner(an Italian literacy prize) for the Italian copy of his book The Client http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Client

Now that the press release is out of the way;) , I am wondering if there is anyone else who enjoys reading his work.

i don't know why, but the only thing i've read by him was "A Time to Kill".
i'd probably enjoy more from him, just never got around to reading anything else.

I have enjoyed many of his works. I've read his first 6; A Time to Kill, The Rainmaker, The Pelican Brief, The Client (my favorite), The Firm & The Chamber. I have not read any of his others. I really of got into Patricia Cornwell after Grisham.

forgot he wrote Pelican Brief. that's definately a book of his i meant to read, the movie's one of my favorites.

^ The Pelican Brief was the first book of his I read several years ago. I have read most of his releases in the UK over the years. Always a good story, great writer on legal related cases.

I've read all of his books, except the one called "a painted house"...at least i think that's what it was titled. It wasn't a legal thriller like his other books.

Grisham has a special way of telling a story as no other novelist has. That said, there is a bit of sameness to his novels. Nevertheless, I've read just about every one. His longer books are good for taking on a long ocean cruise.

There are a couple of his novels that aren't legal thrillers, there's the Painted House, and then there is the Bleachers. Both are just as good as his other books IMO. There is also one more, Playing for Pizza.

Here's his Wikipedia page, it's pretty well put together.

I've read all his books. His writing has improved from some of his earlier books. The last book I read of his was an Innocent Man. A true story of an innocent man on death row. Very compelling and sad true story. I wish John Grisham would turn this into a movie. It would definitely make a very gripping, emotional movie about the justice system in the south.

It isn't Grisham turning it into a movie, it would be a studio approaching him to ask permission to adapt the book to film. I think because it isn't in the usual set-up of his other books, as well as non-fiction, I don't think they will, I also wouldn't be surprised if someone jumped on this a few years back when the law suit settled.
