I'm surprised by your comment Jasun. If he's facing homophobia and it's effecting his career opportunities I would have assumed you'd be coming out against the sponsors, not the athlete?

I thought I did.

I mean, I think Johnny Weir is annoying and I think he BEGS to be treated poorly by everyone. I think he's no fun to watch because he's spending WAY too much time acting like Mrs Roper and not enough time actually skating and most of all, I don't think figure skating is a sport.

That said... people like figure skating, figure skating fans like him, Smuckers can lick me where I shit and how is a gay figure skater something "new?"

OK. I don't know who this guy is. All I have seen of him is the pic in the OP link. He looks like a regular person to me. I mean, he doesn't have horns and a tail.

He's a figure skater that is actually really talented, but because of the ironic prudishness of the judges, he tends to do fairly poorly, even though his technique and precision is usually spot on. He's just really flamboyant.

Thanks for posting that Kenny I had never seen him skate and didn't even think about looking on Youtube. He is perfection on the ice and from the screaming he's obvioulsy a crowd favourite. That performance was seductive, beautifully choreographed and he moved with the grace of a ballet dancer. Whether he ever admits being gay or not, it's bloody obvious he's gay, which does sort of suggest the sponsors are pulling a homophobic fit.

Figure skating has gotten down right boring with all the extra rules and regs. that have been added in the last fifteen years...but for me he makes it interesting. He's so artistic about it.
