So i wanna enlist in the military (army or marine corps) because i am passionate of serving my country but i am worried what if i get a boner in those infamous showers in boot-camp where you are surrounded by cocks and naked guys.......any advice??? *|*

Been there, done that. Wasn't a problem.

You have to understand that you're not going to be sitting around the room naked gawking at each other. You don't have time. Your under the water for 2 mins, and then doing a bunch of different stuff to get ready for the day.

How old are you? If you're thinking of joining your countries Armed Forces and this is a big problem for you, perhaps your maturity level isn't quite as high as it should be. It's not a career suited for school boy children.

You won't even have time to look at other guys. You're gonna be way too tired and hungry to worry about that. Plus it's not like you're going to get much time in the shower anyway. You'll be lucky if they give you more than 2 minutes and that's pushing it.

Personally I think you should consider the Airforce over Marines or Army.

I'd wait for the end of DADT.

I understand that you want to serve your country, but when our leaders have put us in wars that are not morally appropriate - let alone legal - why do you want to do this? There are so many other ways to serve your country - peace corps, habitat for humanity, etc. I admire your desire to help others, but there are lots of other options!

No one, hopefully.

I'd be worried about joining the military too, but for other reasons. Like "Why the fuck did I join the military?!"

There are other ways to serve your country, pick the best suited for you. Joining the military isn't like the Bill Murray movie. Just do something else.

Every guy has a cock. Real men have the balls to go with it.

yeah...uh...personally I think if you really want to help your country you should find an americorp position for a year or more and actually do something for someone else besides insuring the financial freedoms of the wealthiest one percent of americans. If you have met witha recruiter already you have the option of backing out until you sign your contract and take your oath at MEPS. There are also things you can do after that but they get to be complicated. WHATEVER you choose to do you should look at this site: http://www.girightshotline.org/index.html
Especially the section on homosexual conduct discharge, even if you do not intend to claim a homosexual conduct discharge you need to understand the particularities of it in order not to get discharged unpleasantly for homosexuality. The GiRights people were knowledgeable and very supportive when I had my legal issues with the millitary...
Here is the link for americorps:

I worried about the same thing at first but it wasn't a problem really. At first you will be too busy to even think about the naked bodies around you. Just be careful not to bump into somebody while naked lol! I think that would have given me a raging hard dick on the spot if I "bumped" into a sexy guy lol. I almost got hard a few times after the basic training part when things were more relaxed and you had more time to think about sex and stuff, but you can control it. ;)

I have to disagree. Going into the military can be challenging. To say suck it up can be easier than actually staying in. Sure, the benefits after service are nice, but it's not for everyone. Especially if you get the choice to either serve in the military or not.

As Wel478 said, there are plenty other ways to serve your country.

I like to think of it as, not everyone can make it as a doctor. Although serving in the military and going through med school are two different things, not everyone can sustain that motivation to go through with them.

you should do whatever you think is right. As people said, you won't have the time to check out everyone's junk, so that won't be much of a problem. Maybe once you are serving it might pose a problem if you have free time(I'm not sure). I think that whatever you choose, just go with it. You may begin to have doubts with your choice, but just remember why you chose what you chose. Did you try sleeping on your decision for a couple months? You always have the choice to enlist later. It doesn't have to be now.

Getting a boner in the shower won't be a problem because you probably won't get a boner. You will be too busy to get in that frame of mind to have one. Even the morning woody will disappear!

I remember a guy in my company asked the drill instructor if salt peter was put in our food because he had not had a boner since he arrived. We all got a big laugh!

My ex is in the military. His hackles go up when people say that want to join to "serve their country". He would tell you that you can serve your country in a lot of ways, including becoming a civil servant. He would then add pointedly that you should only join the military if you are willing to serve your country by killing on command.

Somehow I doubt he'll every work in a recruitment office.

Your ex is an idiot. He's saying the only people who should join are killers? Yes, in almost all cases you must kill but that's not what it's about it's about protecting your country.

I think you missed the point.

So much bullshit going on in this thread I don't know where to begin.

First of all, nobody really joins the military to just "serve my country". People join for all kinds of reasons. The benefits, the job security, the education/schooling, etc.

Also, being in the military doesn't mean you're going to be a killer. I've known people who have been in the military going over 10 years and they've NEVER even deployed. It all depends on what job you get. I also knew a guy who was in for 20 years and retired with benefits and never deployed.

Second, the thing about the military hates homosexuals isn't necassarily true. Unless you make your sexuality an issue then it most likely won't be a problem. DADT is probably going to end in the next few years as well but I wouldn't wait for that to enlist.

I think the Air Force and Navy are better for your future than the Army or Marines but I'm biased.

If you want to join the military , go for it but realize that you could be stuck in a job you don't like. You just have to make the best of it but it's a great experience and once basic training is over it gets much better. Basic training is the worst part for a lot of people but you can get through it and as for getting hard in the shower, it most likely won't be a problem because like someone mentioned, you won't even be in the frame of mind to get hard. You're going to be more worried about just getting as clean as you can in the one minute or so they give you to shower.

What the heck, I'll play for another round. This is not specifically addressed to you, Sultan.

How many news stories of conscientious objectors have you read? How closely have you followed the stories of war resisters seeking refuge status in Canada after refusing to be deployed (or re-deployed) to Iraq or Afghanistan? If the answer is "none", you may have missed some of the common threads.

It is striking how often those stories include words to the effect of, "I was told I would never be in combat", or "I didn't think I would ever be in a war zone", or "I didn't expect us to declare war while I was in service", etc.

My ex's point, delivered in his usual shock-tactic way, is a simple wake up call. If you enlist in the military, you enlist in an organization where all of the above may happen, and you need to face that.

I remember a guy in my company asked the drill instructor if salt peter was put in our food because he had not had a boner since he arrived. We all got a big laugh!

Affirmative.

A group of us decided to skip the scrambled eggs in the morning and stick with boxed cereals, bananas, & other food that couldn't be tampered with.

After three days (keep in mind, I hadn't busted a nut in six weeks), my cock was throbbing pretty much all throughout the day, and at the most inconvenient times. With the utmost discretion, I excused myself to go jerk off. I remember being at least 1" bigger than my normal size, and my Peter North-like blasts across the room.
