does someone have a JOOST invite for me?

I tried it for a few minutes. I'm sticking to torrents for a while longer. There's barely any programing, the resolution kinda sucks. I'm not diggin' it.

Urgh. This is why Joost should die. It's not letting me invite. It says, "Unexpected error occurred." Piece of crap software. I'll try again in a few minutes.

i watched transformers for an hour and a half last night. it was cool! i might go watch national geographic tonight.

When it works it's actually pretty good, but minimal programming and a very big 'If it works' factor isn't at all cool for a program that thinks its more than it actually is with it's 'too cool to invite everyone' attitude.

/\ perhaps the invites are a way of starting small, maybe they don't have a lot of bandwidth yet and they are waiting to see how it pans out without overloading their servers? Gmail was by invitation only for a long time, and i love gmail. i don't think the by invitation thing is "attitude" i think it's just a way to test what they got without blowing all the circuits in the process.

Viral, P2P, whatever, it all seems like they think they have the greatest thing on their hands and make it so 'you gotta know someone to get in' but once you get in it's very underwhelming really and there's nothing special about it.

well i don't find it underwhelming. I only have basic cable tv, so i can't watch like old cartoons on the cartoon network, i don't get comedy central, or national geographic, etc etc. since i've got joost. i've watched several transformers episodes that i've never seen before, and a national geographic special. it has a sci fi type channel, but i've not checked that out yet. i have been running it while doing a torrents download and have not noticed a performance issue with them both running at the same time.

well i would like to remind a lot of people that Joost is still in the early stages of beta. it has been getting better and it is meant to be minimalistic. i absolutely love it. it has lots of cool programming right now and when it is finished with beta, the program will upload new content daily.

right now, all members have unlimited downloads, so if you want one. just ask

Looks like it only works with Windows and Mac. Since I switched to Ubuntu, I guess I can't use it.
