I personally don't find him attractive because his head and face are a little too square for me; but unfortunately he does have a collegiate, frat boy look that a lot of young (mostly caucasian) women find appealing, and they let their guard down. Girls have got to stop going off alone with douchey guys just because they look like an ab-fitch poster. They've got to learn to be smarter that that.

I'm sure he's innocent and both times he was arrested on suspicion of murder he was just a victim of circumstance.

I marvel at the fact that, being 50, I haven't been arrest for murder (or at least suspicion of) 10 or more times. Obviously I'm doing something wrong...

Like not killing people.

Thank God he's finally coming to justice. Hope his Aruban co-conspirators enjoy the same fate.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder: twinks-to-bears, men-to-women, and the innocent-to-the dangerous. I remember thinking van der Sloot was attractive five years ago, despite the overwhelming circumstantial evidence against him. In the same breadth, I will also admit to thinking that Justin [Bieber] is attractive, but I do not want to have sex with him or Joran.

Ultimately, an opinion is just an opinion, even when degenerated to a personal insult. Lol ... it's funny whenever someone feels his or her opinion to be of more relevance and/or merit than others: Fine, your God is better than my God (and we're both okay with that).

I'm just surprised that it's taken so long for this particular thread to get started.

I don't have any proof to offer in either of Van der Sloot's pending cases, but his actions do not speak well for an innocent man.

With Nathalie Halloway's case, he pretty much flaunted the fact that he did it and got away with it. Rather than let it go away, he continued to taunt the family, making them think he was going to tell them where her body was. He used his well-connected father's political immunity to hide behind.

With the Peruvian girl, he fled the country and tried to disguise himself with a bad hair dye job.

I hope the Peruvians can do what the Arubans couldn't ...prove the case.

My own personal opinion is that he is guilty as sin...

Couldn't agree more. He's a vile, disgusting waist of a human life. Only wish his father were still alive to see the scum bag son he raised go to jail.

I love my children and would give my life for them. However if they break the law they are going to have to suffer the consequences. If I knew one of them had killed someone I couldn't protect them like his worthless father did. Now another innocent young women lost her life. What a shame. Hope he and his father burn in the deepest pit of hell.

I find the whole Natalie Holoway case fascinating. Did anyone see a few months ago where a couple was deep sea diving and took a pic underwater of what looked to be a skeleton? Sent shivers down my spine. The diving team couldn't find the location again. They are saying it could be her. Is he hot? Sure. I thought Jeffery Dahmer was kinda hot when they first caught him! Defiantly a creepy morbid factor in finding a killer attractive.

If my attraction-reaction didn't kick in when I saw a man - ANY man - I wouldn't be on JUB whacking off to dudes. My DNA forces me to at least CONSIDER how my mind feels, sexually, about a man. That's just the way it is and always will be.

What I CAN control is where my mind goes in regards to certain people. I don't fantasize about getting down with serial killers, but if I didn't at least admit to myself that he was cute, I'd feel as closeted as Ted Haggard. What's so wrong with thinking "he's cute, too bad he's a serial killer," then moving on? Should we really be ignoring that inevitable cocktingle? I spent way too long repressing my cocktingles towards men to start doing it now, even once!

Look at it this way: if he approached you at a bar, and you didn't know he was a serial killer, you'd probably still have a chat, and consider him somewhat attractive.
Now once he asks me if I want to come back to his place and take nude pictures (Dahmer anyone?), I'm OUT of there. Regardless of his crimes, he's still a guy. A terrible human being, but a guy nonetheless. What's the big deal? I reiterate, NOT one worth fantasizing about.

I am not condoning what he is charged with but I would get on my knees in front or behind him.

Hopefully by would, the OP means without the serial killer-thing. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Oh, and by the way. If you ever get a pair of fine leather gloves wet...(like with Nicole Simpson's blood) and then you let them dry out, try to slip them on your hands then. I could give you a pair of gloves that got soaked in the rain and they shrunk about two sizes when they dried without being stretched.

Anyone who lives in the north who had gloves and mittens when they were kids knows this.

I can see why the OP thinks he's cute, and it he was just some random guy on the street I would assume most of you would look twice. The fact he's on trial for murder doesn't make the OPs statement any less relevant.

My reaction to Scott Petersen is the same as the OP (and other) about JVdS. Both are (to my eyes) rather-hotter-than-average guys who just HAPPEN to have killed people. If one decides "hotness" purely on the basis of physical appearance, this is true. However, when "hotness" includes things such as personality, trust and the like, all hotness flies out the window with these guys...

If the glove doesn't fit you musta quit...OJ didn't do that. It was proven that the cops planted evidence and handled evidence with their bare hands.

I don't remember who said, at the time about the cops, that "They framed a guilty man" - but that really hit it dead on. I've always been convinced that orange juice, er...I mean OJ..."did" it. If the police hadn't tampered with the evidence, I am also fully convinced that he would have been convicted, but there was enough tampering to create reasonable doubt.

The "glove thing" never convinced me, either. All he had to do was to flex his hand muscles when he "tried" to put the glove on, and that would probably cause it not to fit.

Let him have his day in court and hope that the Peruvian justice system is up to the task of offering up a fair trial. I would be more concerned about how qualified the prosecution is in handling a high profile case with all the media from around the world watching closely.

Maybe a legal scholar knows who officiates in a Peruvian court; one judge or several? If more than one judge, does the verdict have to be unanimous?
