While attending university, we all had to write a psychological paper on Jeffrey Dahmer. I am only stating this because of one glaring parallel - Without either of their now global infamy, I probably would have dated either or both given the chance (as I am sure most in here would have too). Dahmer was handsome enough in his day and before his anti-psychotic bloating. van der Sloot was also handsome enough AND multilingual ... I cannot help but empathize with their respective victims.
I cannot help but wonder exactly how much time Joran van der Sloot will actually serve in Peru. After only perusing their judicial prison codes, he can get up to 1/3 time off for "good time" plus additional time for taking "rehabilitative" courses (which could include and/or not be limited to remedial) Basic Math, Reading, Writing, etc. I console myself with the knowledge that the U.S. is already petitioning for his extradition immediately upon his release from said Peruvian prison.
HLN states that Peruvian prisons are for REHABILITATION over punishment! Joran vdS can serve as little into the single digits before applying for probation and have a good chance at that!
