Last week it was a thread-bare affair owing the split . . . . but hey - didn't the two games make good viewing!

Anyway, cue fanfare becase . . . .

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!

Essendon meet the Kangaroos at Telstra Dome and they're gonna win by 12 points!

aagobombers.png

Say what? 12 points? No way John W!! North won by 7 points.

Why does the AFL schedule cellar dweller teams on Friday nights?

Who would have thought the MIGHTY Bombers would be cellar dwellers when the match fixtures were put together this tme last year? It just happens.

:-(

Delayed telecast just finished here .... not a bad game, actually. 1/1 so far! ..| ;)

Very Happy to see the Bulldogs get up yesterday over the Weagles but it ruined my tipping! Still, I managed 6 out of 8. Not too shabby.

What happed to Collingwood, boys? What a massacre. The fans started streaming out of the ground as soon as the 3/4 siren sounded. We shut the bar at 3/4 time, there was no-one around.

(!) (!)

No-one with 8/8 this round but lots of us scored 6/8. However, there can only be one weekly winner and this week it's Dobson73 ..... CONGRATULATIONS!!!! (!) (!)

rugbyusa survives yet another week on top of the leaderboard, with alt_angry_robot still hot, hot, hot on his heels!!

Details below .....

On a lighter note - did any one hear last week's Cometti-ism?

They crossed to Tasmania and prior to the match, much was made of the fact that they had invested $15,000 in new sirens.

There was a close-up of an elaborate array of horns pointing in all directions.

The commentator said:

"There's no way the umpires will miss hearing this lot. One main siren and four back-ups!"

To which Dennis replied:

"Wow! FOUR back-ups . . . . that's more than Diana Ross had with the Supremes!"

Hi guys

I have been missing for a couple of weeks.... I went home to Thailand for nearly 2 weeks and pigged out on prawns and lobster. Hope I do not have to have a cholesterol test any time soon!

Whilst I was away, I learnt that you can never trust a rugger bugger. I asked my bro Chai to do my tipping for me the first weekend I was away. He tipped magnificently - TWO winners. (a, he lives in Melbourne and b, he plays rugby (union) so I should not have expected too much I suppose.)
Anyway, my tips for this week are

Fremantle
Carlton
West Coast Eagles
Melbourne
Port
Adelaide
Collingwood
W Bulldogs

It is indeed!! Congrats to this week's top tipster, excase33, with an excellent score of 7/8. He now shares the overall lead with rugbyusa and alt_angry_robot. The rest of us have a bit of catching up to do!!! Details below .....

Yeah - not a bad game despite the fumbles and inaccurate shots for goal . . . .at least there were a few 'hi points' for we Bomber fans when we took the lead on the score board.

At one stage I thought we'd get the four points, but it was not to be.

John_W (or any one else who saw Friday night's game). Can anyone remember the Cometti-ism about Sheeds? Went something like this: camera shot of Sheeds looking forlorn, bewildered and unloved (his team was wallowing in the jaws of defeat for the 13th time), Cometti immediately mentioned a name, a few seconds later Dermy says 'explain please', Dennis replies the name used was the coach's name for the team that plays against the Harlem Globe Trotters - the connection being that neither team or coach can win a game.

Hilarious, especially for non-Bomber supporters!

I have consulted the oracle of downtown Upper Heidelberg (him of the rugby persuasion who is currently visiting) and jointly, we have agreed on the following tips....

Melbourne
Saints
Adelaide
Kangaroos
West Coast Eagles
Geelong
The Wallabies
Western Bulldogs
Collingwood

The oracle also advises that Essendon will win one match before the end of the season.
