I didn't truly understand the meaning of this James Taylor and Carol King song until I met one of my best friends Tobin.

He died from AIDS Complications 18 years ago this month.

He was only 29 when he died, but he changed my life in so many ways.

A group of our friends sang this song in a chorus during his memorial:


My friend Tobin was always the one who came running and knocking at my door, and I've tried to emulate his life in mine.

Which is one of the reasons why I personally believe that those that we've truly loved never die, because their memory, and the impact and influence that they had in my life continue to live through us.

Be the person that your friends, and loved ones see in you and pass that along. :)
