This is a great song... grew up in Ohio; Made the best damn moves of my life while shakin trees in Memphis; California was pretty fun, Georgia was always a vacation, Alabama was a beach BUT Texas is for a friend and I had a damn good time there...

Music thread I know but a random puppy pic to make ya smile....

Yup she is pretty talented at the easy bake oven -- dog version.... she puts out a pie every six hours.... we have gotten past the puppy days of getting accustomed to my feeding style....that is a huge improvement... the little girl and me are ... umm .. on SOLID ground now.

O_O

Now for those of you that got that reference here is a happy song...

Aww. What a sweetie. I'm quoting her just so everyone can see her again.

She is so fucking cute... I have had a bunch of puppies throughout my life and this one takes the cake for cuddly and cute... now if she could just figure out that the toilet is outside... we'd be good...

Probably posted this already... my current anthem...

Hell yeah!

You gotta get back down here!

We'll load up the cooler with some cold beer, a bottle of Kentucky Bourbon for shots, toss it in a cooler, drop that in a canoe and we'll head down the Brazos River for an afternoon of doing much of nothing. :D

This song spoke to me when I was more self-absorbed in my own pain, and my loss hurt more than living.

And as I've gotten "older" I find some "comfort here...."

Life all goes to fast...

Here is Ella Fitzgerald singing my favorite rendition of "Mack the Knife." She forgets the lyrics less than 2 minutes into the song and improvises the rest of the way. Her lyrics are clever and hilarious at times. She also impersonates Louie Armstrong. One more example of her greatness. I love Ella.

Tacked on to the end of the video is a 1930 version of the song in the original German from the "Three Penny Opera" by Kurt Weil and Bertolt Brecht.

Another Kurt Weil/Bertolt Brecht song that was later covered by popular artists. Here is Lottye Lenya singing "Moon of Alabama," from the opera "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny." The song was later recorded by Jim Morrison and the Doors as the "Alabama Song."

Sarah did in the amrs of an angel better I think..... I liked this whole CD at one point while equally self absorbed because my problems were so "unique" ... Meh

Now I am older and dont remember where my underwear is.... :P

^The 90s really were a magical time for music...

PS: My eyes are "steel" grey which confounds many people.

This is still a "classic" [shocking that this song is nearly 20 years old now] that is played on a local radio station every Saturday night at the stroke of midnight...

This is for Centex since I apparently dumbfound him with my music taste. This was a camp song [I was a camp leader back in HS at an overnight YMCA camp] that became a motto for the last session's camper leaders to sing acoustically [there was always a token hippie that went to Middlebury College who could play guitar at the camp]...

PS: exclude the intro dialogue.

I'm dumbfounded by everyone's musical taste. Oh how the culture has degenerated. :-(
