[h=3]Free Tshirts for JUB Meets - READ ME[/h]I'm curious why these two threads still exist, when their existence now seems to be disingenuous, to say the least.

When the JUB meet in NYC was happening back in September, palbert and I think a couple of other people were trying hard to get publicity for the Meet, and I know that palbert was trying very hard to get T-Shirts for those attending, but all of the efforts were to no avail at all.

Something seems very wrong that these threads are in Stickys - which I certainly see as a kind of "promise" to promote upcoming meets and make T-Shirts available. It's very disappointing that these promises are there and, yet, try as some of us did, it was entirely fruitless.

Yes, I consider this a valid complaint.

JUB meets are one of the most cool things this site has to offer (besides the Forums themselves), and the Meets are a unique feature which also help place this site far above any gay porno site on the internet, and yet the current powers almost seem to be Anti-Meet.

I don't think anti- meet as much as just not a priority. Which is a shame because meets help spread the JUB love, in many ways can help bring us together more as a community plus be a great way to plug the site. Enlightened self interest... isn't that capitalism when it works at its essence?

^ Hmmm...you still have the info for the *2013* meet in both your title and signature. That may mislead people into thinking that there is a JUB meet in late September 2014.
lol, I think I'd better take it off then!

Actually, there are three threads (in STICKY threads) which I question:

Free T-shirts (The New York City meet of September 2013 meet proved that JUB doesn't give a damn about these, despite requests)

*BOTH* NYC meet threads from the same meet - shouldn't these go into the PAST JUB meets thread? I think there are other entire meet threads, as well, still lingering in the main body of the Forum here.

Still, nobody answered my question why JUB meets are absolutely ignored by JUB, even when there's a promise of event publicity, and a promise of T-Shirts (if requested) was also ignored and not even addressed after Palbert, etc. tried over and over.

Both are prominently in the Stickys section, but were not acted on at all in September at the NYC-area meet.

How many admins have you actually seen in the last year besides Corny, not counting when the site had to be down for... whatever it was the site was down for?

After much dithering I was told that these were issues for Support. Can't an Admin or Mod send an email. Seems no one wants to own this problem.

Well it seems if people want to get together, they can make a thread but wil no longer have any promotional support from the administrators. That is ASININE marketing. Community relations are important, especially for a gay community website where all the publicity and relationships that grow and develop because of local meets generates tremendous pr for the site. I don't get how being typically corporate and removed from the public makes this a better site. Of course most of us will never know the vast majority of members, spread across the globe. But every little meet, supported and promoted not just by members but mods and administrators bring people a little more closer. We become a little more personal, vibrant, relevant to each other besides being pixels on the screen. Just my 2 cents here.

Part of the problem is that even the current volunteer "Admins" rarely seem to get any answer to anything either.
