Judge Denies Trump Request to pause fraud judgment [SPLIT]

Yeah, I'm kinda confused as well. I think it's possible that when he blamed that baba woman and then refused to pay her - he scared off even passable counsel.

That or the crazy has gotten so bad he's living officially on Pluto.
I'm not a gambler but this looks like someone betting everything on what they hope is a winning hand: that he's going to be President and can delay the inevitable liquidation of his businesses in the US.

Either that or he's so invested in his delusions of grandeur that he believed that the Roy Cohn legal games he's played for 50 years would continue to work.

The media focused on "Trump's donations increase every time he gets indicted". Trump has been pushing that narrative. The truth is that his PAC income increased for a week with each indictment. Overall, Trump's campaign donations are now below Biden's:

Don't be surprised if it comes out that Ronna McDaniel wasn't underwriting Trump's campaign and was wanting to invest in Senate races that Republicans might win. That's likely why she's out after 7 years and after being one of their most successful fundraisers.

Look at "cash on hand" at the RNC vs DNC.

The bills are coming due:
$50 million in legal fees so far
$5 million bond paid in the first Carroll case
$88 million judgment in the second Carroll case
$455 million and counting in the NY civil fraud case

It's close to $600 million now.

He's 77 years old and he's on planes all the time flying to his Nuremberg rallies and to courthouses across America. Every morning, I look at the news to see if Trump had a stroke or heart attack overnight.

And the "billionaire" is trying to delay the payment of a $83.3 million bond in the Carroll case...

Jean Carroll said Donald Trump should not be given more time to post the $83.3 million she was awarded in her defamation trial against the former president, telling the judge that Trump is the “least trustworthy of borrowers.”

On Friday, Trump asked the judge overseeing the defamation case to give him additional time to satisfy the judgment while he appeals the jury verdict or allow him to post a lesser amount ranging from $24 million to $40 million.

Carroll’s lawyers opposed the request, writing in a court filing Thursday that Trump’s request comes down to “trust me.”

Now we'll see if the deck is stacked in Trump's favour.

Time is running out.

If Trump cannot get a bond for the NY fraud case, and if he tries a bankruptcy filing or claims not to have the funds for a bond, he opens himself to having to disclose his assets, including the assets that might be involved in the E Jean Carroll bond that he got from Chubb.

Donald J. Trump’s lawyers said in a court filing that he faces “insurmountable difficulties” as he tries to raise cash for the civil fraud penalty he faces in New York.

Former President Donald Trump has not been able to get a bond to secure the $464 million civil fraud judgment against him and his co-defendants, his lawyers said in a court filing Monday.

Trump and his company need to post a bond for the full amount by next week in order to stop New York Attorney General Letitia James from being able to collect while he appeals. They've asked an appeals court to step in in the meantime and said Monday that they have not had any success getting a bond.

Just watch. An Appeals Court will give him more time...because he is white and rich.

His real estate holdings are worth at least $464 million...although who knows...maybe not much more, but certainly that much.

And the stuff TrumpCo. gave to the Sauds got Jared $2 billion to play with.

He now becomes the highest stakes security risk in the US and don't think that he isn't leveraging his upcoming access to secret docs to try to cover the spread.

His real estate won't sell for market value, and he'll get lowballed for everything he's forced to sell. If he's going to be saved, the money will come from MBS or Putin. It's absolutely correct that this makes him a massive security risk. He'd take office already bought.

I wouldn't bet on Jared giving him a dime, either. They're both grifters, and grifters don't share - especially since that money is going to the state of New York. Plus, I doubt Ivanka has any interest in becoming involved in the crimes she narrowly avoided, and she's a greedy crook also.

It is the likelihood of massive losses in a 'Fire Sale' that will more than likely have a Court prevent Fanni Willis from seizing and liquidating the properties.

If there is any chance that the appeal of the judgement could be overturned, the state won't want to be on the hook for damages suffered as the result of losses.

Certainly, there will be unparalleled scrutiny of buyers and lenders for any of these properties...although again, it would be a great way for the Sauds and the Kremlin to funnel money.

Things will depend on how the judgment is structured. Anything sold from the company under receivership will not be managed by anyone Toad. There's little chance that anyone will be able to play games under that kind of scrutiny. Or the scrutiny of every investigative journalist in the world. It's not like the court tells Toad to sell; the court will assert possession and sell themselves. I have no idea how much of his assets are legally personal property, or property of Toad inc.

Also, the court is not worried about getting full value and will not be liable for any damages or loss in value. They will sell everything if they have to at whatever price they can get, and unless Toad sells now, or in the next week, Toad will not control any of the process or pick the buyers. If that doesn't cover the award, Toad or Toad Inc. will still owe the rest, and the State of New York can place liens or garnish all future assets until the award is paid.

There is no appeal until the bond is paid. He must come up with the money by next week or the court will simply ignore his whining and sell his property. It's a hard deadline, failing to meet it does not mean he then gets to appeal later. Without the money in the court's hands, there will be no decision to overturn anything.

His only option is to pay up now—it's probably impossible to sell multiple properties that quickly even to Saudi or Russian buyers with cash in hand—and he can't seem to get anyone to lend it to him. Let's not forget the hundreds of millions he already owes that come due this year, what he's going to owe the bonding company when E Jean gets her second pound of flesh or any other judgment in the future. We aren't done yet. At any rate, time has vanished, and Toad is probably living in some fantasy where this isn't happening.

The only conclusion is that unless he can get a judge to buy him time, and he's not in the fifth circuit, there are no Toady federal judges in NY - he's pretty much toast.

Of course, Letitia James could decide to drag her feet, but I suspect he couldn't afford her anyway.

Of course I am hard as a rock imagining that the fraudulent TrumpCo. empire collapses under the weight of real scrutiny, but over my life, I have seen the courts go the extra mile to give white men with money the extra time and opportunity to do things that no other person could do.

Fortunately this is one case that the SC can't interfere with...but I'll bet there are a huge number of really powerful and rich people who see what this judgement might also mean for them someday who are working their phones 24/7 to find any relief under law.

There are at least a dozen or one hundred companies operating the same way. It has been a open secret for years...propped up by lenders and insurance companies and all the guys who golf at Mar-a-Lago and whacking their balls over Ivana's plot at Bedminster.

I will believe that Trump and these others taste ashes, once I see them choking on them.

Fani Willis is the district attorney of Fulton County, Georgia.

hahaha Forgive a confused Canuck trying to keep Trump's travails sorted :rotflmao: :ROFLMAO:

I unconsciously typed it in after reading an FW article just before responding.

Letitia JAMES

But I will bet they might have some fun times doing as pub crawl some day.

She should ground him and repo his airplane first.

Well, he's already choking. Toad's entire persona is about money; now he's having to beg the courts he spent four years shitting all over for time to spare his sorry broke, tangerine hide.

In NY, there are no more extra miles for Toad; he pissed on NY state (the city already despised him), interfered in their legal system, raised their taxes, slandered the lot of them, and then decamped to Florida to avoid the fallout.

He's not in this trouble because of his shady business deals; he's in it because he spent four years making an implacable enemy of the state of New York. No state judge is going to save him, and the Feds, where he might not be so reviled, are not the Trog-infested Fifth Circuit. Those other guys you're worried about get to pay the punitive taxes he demanded NY pay, and I seriously doubt any of them are at all worried that Letitia James is going to come and collect their heads as well.

This is a grudge match between the State of NY and the Toad who fucked them over. Shady real estate banking is not the genesis, just like tax evasion is not why they were after Al Capone.

Fanni is relevant because she explains why Toad is so distracted. She doesn't want cash; she wants hard prison time.

So, the judge has ordered Toad Inc. to disclose all strategies, negotiations, and terms concerning Toad's attempts to get a bond to the director overseeing Toad inc.

It sounds like Engoran is also curious about where toad might find the money.

Something else for him to resist in the courts.

I saw that Letitia has filed for judgements in Westchester County to set the stage for seizing his golf course and estate there. :ROFLMAO:

Just waiting for the filing for judgement in Florida...full faith and credit in action.

Tick Tock.

I wonder what he'd hate to lose more, Toad Tower or all that crass, overly gilded trashiness by the sea.
