Well it just seems to me like a person wouldn't want to intentionally keep encountering something that they've made very obvious that they want nothing to do with.
There are a lot of things I can do, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go do all of them just because of that.
jordy - it looks like bma just wants to stir things up.
but - like everyone's said - this is the bisexual/STRAIGHT forum, so, even though i'm 100% gay, i think it's great women are posting photos.
candyapple - you are AWESOME for stepping up. you've set the gold standard for the ladies here. just as an issue of fairness, it's about time there's equal representation here on the bi/straight forums.
oh - the one thing that bugs me about mr bma's argument is that he essentially argues that as a GAY website, there should be GAY material on here - exclusively.
i respect him if he believes that (it makes sense - after all, we are a minority that would benefit from a separate community space like that).
but my issue with bma's comments is that he makes an exception to his argument - namely, that straight women can post their opinions... but otherwise, no other non-gay material should be on this site.
that's obviously a double standard of sorts.
aren't women's opinions essentially the opinions of straight people? so, by virtue of that alone, their opinions would be non-gay material. their opinions would be straight material.
straight women may lust after guys the same way that us gay guys do, but no matter how you twist it, straight women (race and economic differences notwithstanding) will never have to deal with the type of problems gay men encounter when expressing their sexuality.
the institution of marriage is proof of that - in the US, women can get married to the men they lust after. gay men, however, are relegated to having civil unions. and even if/when gay marriage is legalized, gay men and gay women will constantly have to battle discrimination and hate from the thousands of conservative, narrow-minded citizens out there. for straight women in relationships, this is hardly an issue.
bottom line, a straight woman's opinion is NOT gay material.
so by bma's argument, their opinions shouldn't belong on this site either.
and yet he makes that an exception.
bma: if you're going to say that this site should be stricly for gays and gay material, then at least stand by your claims and don't make exceptions.
your post would've had more credibility if you'd done that.
otherwise, if you're accepting enough to read the opinions of straight women on these boards, then you should be accepting enough to have women posting their photos too.
if they don't do anything for you, then don't come to the bi/straight forum (we all know you will anyway).
i know for a fact, however, that there are several bisexual guys in this forum who'd enjoy some of that female eye candy. why deprive them of that joy?
