  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Just bought my first erotic art work

I honestly don't know. I collect nude art in general, but nothing I think of as sexual. When I saw that though I just couldn't stop thinking about it. A week later I still couldn't get it out of my mind so I bought a print. To be fair though I can't put into word why I like any of my art or decorations, nudes, theater related, etc.

What was "unexpected" about it? That it was a woman?

A visceral response to a piece of art is always the best reason to have it.

I still do not get how one would let in one's home the sort of "casual company" that would not feel "comfortable" with a part of your personality hanging on the wall.

Of the Minotaur sort..?

it is a Minotaur but you see his huge dick going into a vagina. Its packed or I'd post it.

I have a painting of Marilyn Monroe but thats as close as I will get. I don't need penis statues or vagina vases.

Watching some woman finger bang herself might be a distraction for some...including the children who visit ....and I don't necessarily need everyone looking at that part of my personality no matter how well executed:rotflmao:

^ Oh, so you have a closeted part of your personality that you prefer to keep cozy and private

"The identity of the model and why the paintings were created are unknown. Both paintings are first recorded in an inventory of unpopular and unsuccessful art by Prime Minister Manuel de Godoy, Duke of Alcúdia in 1800, when they were hung in a private room reserved for nude paintings, alongside such works as Velázquez's Rokeby Venus.[5] Godoy retained the picture for six years before it was discovered by investigators for the Spanish Inquisition in 1808, along with his other 'questionable pictures'.[4] Godoy and the curator of his collection, Don Francisco de Garivay, were brought before a tribunal and forced to reveal the artists behind the confiscated art works which were 'so indecent and prejudicial to the public good.'

"Goya escaped prosecution when the tribunal accepted that he was following in a tradition, and emulating a Velázquez painting which had been favoured by Philip IV of Spain.[8] The earlier picture of Venus had been similarly kept out of view by that art-loving king in a private room, 'the room where His Majesty retires after eating.'[9] In fact, the Inquisition by 1808 was nearing the end of its influence, and while it could draw attention to 'dangerous' forms of expression, be they books, plays, or paintings, it was usually unable to fully suppress them.[7]"

^ So your point is that Anglos are inquisitorial Catholic Spaniards at heart  Which queen of Spain was outraged at the view of that pubic area, considering it damaged the international reputation of female Spaniards, hinting at the assuption that they all had their crotches bare like a chestnut?

The only figurative artwork print showing some nudity that I ever exposed was in my bedroom for a decade:

My post was in response to the reference you made to "a closeted part of your personality". I thought immediately of the room where Godoy is said to have exhibited the erotic works he commissioned and collected, and that Philip IV kept the Rokeby Venus in a private room.

It would never occur to me the "Anglos" (your term, and not one I customarily use) are at heart Inquisitorial Spaniards, perhaps not even those native-born Brits acting at the behest of Mary I. nor do I know anything of the taste in art of the queens of Spain. (I have, however, always wondered why Charles IV and his queen, Maria Luisa of Parma, every allowed themselves to be portrayed by Goya looking like idiots.)

^ Because it never occurred to them that their own reflection looked idiotic?

Funny, I would rather think of the original private cabinet in the Alacázar of the Austrias

It is the same reason I don't share the porn vids I love to watch with them.
