Tonight, my ex-flatmate/friend, his girlfriend, and a very good mutual friend went to a wine-tasting and out to dinner afterwards. It was the kind of night after which you're walking home trying to stop yourself from smiling, and it's not just the alcohol.
These are people with whom I can just relax, and I know that they like me for it. I can't explain that, I just get the vibe, I can see it in the body language, in the jokes that we make, in the times we reminisce about.
That's what this is all about. That's what I've been working towards. The sexuality business is part of that, but this is what it's truly about.
Call me emotionally needy if you want to, but there is nothing as validating as being around people like that. It makes life worth living.
