Hello everyone.

I am a 26yo man and I have been gay since I remember myself. I've been thinking to come out to my family for the last few years and today I made it.

It has been the hardest thing I've ever done but I now feel free. No more lies and hiding.

They seem to be ok with it, however being old fashioned they still find it hard to come into terms with the idea, but hey it's only been an hour since I did it..

I wanted to take this chance and post here in order get some positive energy as I said it was the hardest thing I've ever done and those who have been there they know very well. To those who are about to do it just be proud of who you are.

Love,

D.

Congratulations! It's a burden carrying a secret and a relief when it's no longer taking a toll. Here's to the day it won't matter and will become unnecessary!

Good for you - all the best in the future.

I'm glad to see you've been able to take this decision and that you are feeling much better now. Hopefully every gay man will be accepted without having to come out very soon.

Congratulations, tiesilk. It's always wonderful to hear that someone has become free of living the double life. As is with everyone's life, there will be ups and downs. But, the main thing is you have acknowledged to those you love and trust that you are no different now then you were a few hours ago. It may take time for them to adjust, but they will and will find it a normal and acceptable lifestyle.

Congratulated. You are totally right with your quote 'No more lies and hiding.' I would like to wish you good luck with starting with living a happy and a relaxed life as an open gay guy who does not anymore need to hide and to ly about a crucial part of his own identity.
