am I being more obnoxious than usual lately?
That's like trying to classify a IV or a V tornado while laying under barn rubble.![]()
I'd say you are as obnoxious as you always have been.
I imagine that the two unfortunate people who were pissed off with you this week just aren't capable of scoffing at your pretentious and bombastic pseudo-intellectualism the way we all are.
And we're on your side when it comes to suffering through the verbal hash of some cocksucker-for-hire's babelfishgoogletranslate attempt to make himself seem interesting...and couldn't agree more on the subject of Manent's translations.....which, as you note, are not only just versions...but mere versions.
Tell them to lighten the fuck up.

belamy you are part of JUB's fabric
You mean like one of those knots or lumps in fabrics?
anyway,... if we're grading on a curve, you're still less obnoxious than me, I'm guessing.
Actually, I find you're much less obnoxious than you used to be, say about two years ago, when I was first exasperatedly attempting to communicate with you, and was being met with constant put-downs, insults, grandiose dismissals, and overly cryptic to the point of unintelligible responses.
Whether the positive change is because (a) you have 'warmed' to me personally, or (b) the passage of time has ever-so-subtlely 'normalised' you (as it often does on JUB with 'unorthodox' posters) I cannot say, but I suspect is the latter.
I can only say I like you better now than I did back then.![]()
I am only asking because I get people being more vocal, more... articulate (?) in my presence about how pissed they feel: this week I received a rant from a ho whom, apparently, and according to his own choice of terms, I made feel ignorant (!!) (I merely said the French and English part of his profile seemed googlelated), and then I said, to another person, that Marià Manent's translations of Emily Dickinson were... bad, because they were not actually translations, but mere versions.

This is exactly like that scene where the Grinch grows a heart and returns all the Christmas presents.![]()
